Beta? much work to do

personal opinion. I played many RPGs

NPC deaths, they always say the same things. Interactions almost nonexistent. If you kill one another reacts after a long time. ( and many other things )

Life in the country is dead. I do not like it. ghost town.

AI ridiculous.

Henry seems one with psychological problems. change the voice, something more cool please, or at least
do something more immersive. It is a mixture of psychopathic and nerd. does not convince me.

identical houses … looks dayz.

very few actions to do … I read you could do anything, but you can just run, forging, sleep, and alchemy.

I am not convinced. I really hope for something better in the final versionr .

I repeat, personal opinion.

Personally i havent backed yet but considering it, i have been playing alot of games in Alpha and Beta. And Beta is the bug fixing part of production so why all features arent implimented yet is odd to me.

That’s a known bug.

Henry’s voice is just a placeholder, his role will be played by the professional actor.

Im actually really happy that somebody else feels this way too. Ive been playing this game since the first tech alpha and I was really impressed with what was being achieved considering it was super early alpha and knew that there would be a long ways to go with it so I backed it. They didn’t deliver the alpha updates on time and I excused it as them working on the beta. Now when the beta came out I was expecting it to be awesome, like finally a first taste at the game. That’s not what happened, in realty, personally, the game became unplayable. That’s not even an overstatement, whenever I load the game I cant stay in the game for longer than 20 minutes before it crashes and corrupts my save. So I have just stopped trying to play it after 4 hours of fiddling with the different ways of saving and tweaking game options and so on. The game went from getting a nice 30 fps to 10 on my pc. Most of the mechanics in the game are currently broken and/or not doing what they are supposed to do. The voices still sound not the best. The cutscenes during the dialogue still look bad. The sword combat still is super clunky and needs improvement. Like dont get me wrong, I’m well aware it is a beta, my fear is the lack of progress being done in the past year. I wasn’t expecting the beta to be perfect by any means but I also wasn’t expecting it to be a step back. Now on top of everything it seems like they are going to start catering to consoles for release of this game. It’s funny because whenever I would say something like this on the kingdomcome subreddit concerning the game and the fact that i couldnt play it all i got from people was “it’s a beta man give it time”…thats what I was saying to people a year ago when the game was in alpha. but we are like 4 months ish from release and Im getting a little scared. I need an update soon that fixes a lot of these things so I can stop being worried about it.

I feel like you, and I acutally shelved the game now and see when they patch up the game a good deal.

Devs don’t have a release date. Also, I understand your frustration. If you compare Battlefield 3-4 beta to KCD beta, that’s two completely different phases of development.

Indeed…to name the acutal release “beta” was not exactly the best decision from WarHorse!!

All I know is that when I backed the game it was scheduled for end of Q3 or early Q4 2016 meaning late summer and now that could change if they decide to release it at the same time as the console version. (Which is super not cool to do considering this game was kick started by PC users)

It i see alot of its just beta out there… Lets take a look at what a BETA is.
BETA is the game state where all features or far most features have been implimentet and it is now time for bug fixing and uptimization. Calling what you currently have BETA is wrong. It’s an Alpha.

It is not necessarily WH’s decision, distributors commonly require that all versions are released at the same time. The need for a distributor has been known since the kick starter campaign.

This game has been backed by both PC and console users since the KS campaign this project was never PC exclusive.

The potential push for distribution has also been mentioned since KS.

This is from the first paragraph of the campaign description on Kick Starter

I suppose you’re right but I would still argue that significantly more PC users backed the project.

It’s also worth mentioning that the game is stunning visually, I love the forests and the lighting. Thats the only thing that kept me interested the game when I could still play it. I just cant stand how broken pretty much every other aspect of the game is.

You would be correct, in any case PC development has and remains priority.

As mentioned before directly from WH any delay would only serve to improve the PC version further.

Then rejoice at the news of potential delay, again this will only give WH more time to optimize and make more polished game in the long run.

I feel what you are saying man, I have addressed most of these things in my video rant. You can find the post in the forums, Warhorse needs to get their head on the saddle and complete the game.

Their reply after seeing my video:

Yes, we have seen it. Well, we know about the problems, and most of the time you come to the wrong conclusions in your video. For example that there can be no good story in this game, how should we the good parts of the story without spoiling it? But in some points you are right. Game still needs to have a lot of development, and release is not summer anymore but on an yet unknown date. The game is not optimized yet, and this leads bad FPS, we already have solutions for big battles, but they are not done yet, so we only can show a smaller battle yet. To say something about your worries about fast travel: we will have fast travel and it can be already seen in the inventory. Don´t jugde our game like a final released game, this is pretty far from beeing released yet.
And the problem is not that we are overly confident because of kickstarter, but that a game like this needs a lot of development, and there is no fast way to do this.

So confirm 4 delay

Why let research and facts get in the way of a good rant?

Agreed, why do boring shit

Yeah misperception is always good. Who needs to be right when you can be angry and ill informed.

Had my little laugh and life goes on, oh well. At least the devs are okay in my book. Hope their first project succeeds.
