Game freezes as soon as I take my first step

I start a new game and then as soon as I take a step or look around it freezes. I have gotten a few feet before, but it ends in crashing everytime. I saw something about crimson drivers. I do not use AMD so I am wondering what else could possibly be the problem.
I have a gtx 970
Intel i5-4690K
8GB ram

Can you please post a DxDiag file and attach it here in the forum, so we (@Hound) can take a closer look at this problem?

Have you modified the sliders in the menue?

I have the graphics maxed out. 1920x1080 resolution and all sliders all the way up.

I saw something about LOD making it freeze and when he changed the LOD it worked. I tried this and nothing changed.

Just try this:

delete the user_game file to reset the settings.

Game loads but freezes

Yeah, the settings itself are not the problem, the game tends to freeze when you fiddle with the sliders (LOD distance in particular) so as of now it's recommended not to change these If you did change them, delete the user_game file to reset the settings. If you didn't / this doesn't help, let us know so we can possibly figure out something else .

As Blacksmith mentioned, try deleting the user_game file located in the directory the game is installed. It should solve the issue
