Ingame Nudity ?!

Are we still talking about this? I can’t believe it…

You see. There ie golden rule: Sex Sells. Anf of course it will, but the goal, in this case, will be money. Warhorse didn’t choose money road, because the are not making “176th free-to-play mobile RPG MMO Elven village-builder with DIAMONDS™”. So I absolutely shure there is not any room for nudity here.

It doesn’t work at all in Skyrim. Not at all. Skyrim’s storytelling is so riddled with technical and political limitations, it’s a real shame.

Don’t mistake that discussion for a “there should be naked women with huge boobies in the game” request. It’s a discussion about the natural displayal of the human body in a video game based on historical realism. There is a reason why video games are still considered childrens’ toys in some part of society and why video games don’t have the status of movies or literature. Constant self-limitation to avoid any struggle in advance is one reason for that. A game like KCD is not a toy, it’s a kind of art and an entertainment product for adults. How will you be able to develop a mature game when you exclude certain (important) parts of the human life in advance? You won’t.

Just think about requesting stuff like that for literature. Some of the best books on the planet wouldn’t exist if they couldn’t describe the human body or physical love…

oh, philosophically you are completely right, i share your opinion.
it is the realism without compromise what differs this game from ‘‘toys’’, at least i hope so.
but i would not be angry if some content will be modded in later to better sell the game.
in this case it makes no difference to the game, the npc’s would likely react in the same way to someone in underwear or completely naked.
and somewhere you always have to set limitations, no game can ever be perfect.
better to spend development time to more important things.

For English speaking. This comment means basically “well said” He also implied I am male and that is offensive

actually, it hasn’t been the us that’s been doing the banning, but european countries like germany. also, australia banned a game recently on account of violence.

There is difference between a ban by an institution which means nothing else that the games are not allowed to be sold to children and can’t be marketed and a societal refusal. In Europe (especially in Germany) there are harsh laws to protect children but we don’t have problems with violence or nudity in products for adults. That’s fully accepted by large parts of society.

@Ambaryerno, I was going off of what you were posting, my apologies if it sounded like I was twisting what you posted that’s not what I meant to do. I was using your pictures as a point; if women even had attire like this back in this time era, only rich women would be wearing this.

That’s jumping to a MAJOR conclusion, as up until the discovery of that fragment it wasn’t believed that even RICH woman wore such things.

I would not be surprised at all if these garments were common even among peasant women. They wouldn’t have been decorated with lace like this example, but they would have been available.

@Ambaryerno I believe that’s a leap to a major conclusion. Based off of what we know and how we know people acted and were treated I think it is safe to assume that not all lower class women wore certain attire.

I hope there isn’t anything. Underwear is kinda borderline imo, but it can’t be helped. Anything further is just tasteless.

She has a bra and panties on, and he has pants. Look closer.

no, there are no thongs and string bras in medieval ages, so it couldn’t have been panties. i think it’s the result of a skin color difference because they’re just changing the heads around. later when they changed the male character’s head, you can see skin color is a bit different from the body.

Great example? All it does is remove a level without telling anyone why. It’s a generic “This game may contain offensive material to some viewers” screen at the beginning of the game. So when the level is skipped you’re left with an even more confusing story than before, which says a lot considering the story was absurd anyways.

I was using the generic term so the most people would understand what the reference was to. Women in the period wore a chemise and or possibly a corset (Historians tend to be divided) , while lower class women typically just bound themselves in strips of fabric to give them support. Look at the difference in colors and the lack of texture on the cup, they are not the same as the rest of the body indicating a different texture and mesh, which is clothing that hasn’t been textured yet. If it was in a state of undress than the texture would not need to be reserved because it would be the same as the rest of the body. The only possible way for it to be bare is if there was multiple textures for women’s breasts and downstairs, which seems highly unlikely.

Nice racism and nation bashing there.

It is always puzzling to me that it appears to be quite acceptable to depict graphic violence in various mainstream media with barely any comment; but as soon as anyone mentions nudity there is a recoil in horror reaction.

I would like to see the possibilty of nudity included for both player & NPC, not for titilation but for the sake of realism.
It would open up greater variety of real world situations & add to immersion.

I would also be interested to hear the developer’s standpoint on it.

Well I would prefer visible anatomy to the road Skyrim went, just tilt the camera up the loin cloth on a male character.

It puzzles me why some people are fine with nudity but no graphical violence. Personally I think it can be done if it’s done tasteful such as underwear. Anything more is borderline pornographic and not appropriate.
