Warhorse @ Gamescom 2015

Greetings War Horses!

Warhorse Studios will attend the Gamescom 2015 in Cologne, the biggest Gaming Convention on planet earth and for us the by far most important one!

That’s why we will haul out bigger guns than on E3!

It will start right after GDC Europe (same place), where we will have a presentation too by the way. Gamescom opens its doors from the 5th auf August till Sunday the 9th. The business zone is open from Wednesday to Friday. The public zone is open at all time but Saturday is the biggest rush.

So that’s the plan:

We will have 3 business hall booths to mainly meet journalists and other interesting business people.

Room 1 will be a presentation room where I (from we to fr) will present the game with great help of Jaroslav one of our QA members who will play the game while I talk. In addition to the presentation we will also show the trailer + a new combat video

Room 2 will be a interview room where @Hellboy and Viktor Bocan will answer special detailed questions from journalists which I can’t or don’t want to answer.

Room 3 will be a hands-on room where @SasekUprchlik , our combat QA specialist, will introduce the combat to journalists and everyone who comes by. He will answer questions and assist while trying combos and stuff.

We planned to have a Community Party……, but unfortunately we won’t realize it this year. The planning time was just way to short L But we decided that we will rather do a party next year on a way bigger scale (internal plan: steal the show from Gamescom!). We can still meet this year for some beers!

We had to focus our power on another opportunity we got a small booth in the public zone…wuhuuu.

2 Computers are waiting there for you to play Kingdom Come: Deliverance.

@WH_JiriRydl will be there for your answering your questions (I will join on Saturday)

In addition our great German moderators @YuusouAmazing and @DrFusselpulli will assist JR since he doesn’t speak German. So you can meet your moderators and we can discuss a place to drink beer after the show!

AAAAAAAAAND

If everything go as planned… we will have people from the German Battle of The Nations Team at our Booth. Warriors in full plate armor! They can talk about their sport and about our combat system in terms of correctness J Cool! (They need a place to sleep, any ideas? Or is someone willing to share his apartment?)

So that’s it I guess.

I hope to meet you at Gamescom!

Sounds fantastic. I wanted to visit Gamescon once too. Maybe next year. Germany is not that far after all.

Whaaaat no party? :scream: What did I buy this ticket for then?

Kidding, I will join your beer with a lemonade if I’m allowed to

Ah, anticipation is the finest joy! Especially for that hands-on room.
And saturday … well, since I didn’t get a ticket for that day … anyone who wants to make a tour around Cologne with me is very welcome!

Great Scott, guys! I’m gonna be at the Gamescom on Friday and looking forward to see you and your very interesting game. Unfortunately not every developer of those fine games like yours will be attending (e.g. inXile entertainment with their Torment: Tides of Numenera or N-Space with Sword Coast legends…sorry guys, I know it will have dragons :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: …) But the most important will be: Save a beer for meee! :beers:

Okay, how is it going. There will be no official Warhorse Party, but should we meet each other on saturday (or an other day?) in some pub and have our own party with some Warhorse members?

It has been a while that I didn’t use theforum, but when I read this…I won’t be free for gamescom due to some exams the next weeks. But Colone isn’t to far away from where I live, and I could spare an hour or two for this little Party. Probably my only Chance to meet Dan once…to make it short I would love such a Little Party. Thats why I would come if it is possible. Maybe my reply revives the Topic

you have an idea where to make the party?

I sadly won’t be visiting gamescom this year, but can hopefully meet the team at next years e3 or some other event.

not really sorry. Isn’t there any bar on the gamescom-area? Otherwise the Cologne Beach Club doesn’t seems to be to far away, but I have never been there (Google maps)

My Girlfriend was there once, she said its nice, but its a kind of beachbar… so, if weather is nice it will be nice, if weather is bad it will be worse… and i don´t know if it a good idea to go to somewhere directly nera gamescom, it will be very full. maybe some irish pub? Jameson Pub, Corconian irish Pub or Barney Valleys Pub?I dont know if they are good or not.

me neither…anyone from colone with Hands on experience?

beside that the interest in such a Party doesn’t seem to be that big… and as I can’t say for sure that I will be able to come… I don’t know it it is reasonable to organize such a Meeting if nobody is interested (apart us of course  )

they are some people interested in this

Yes there are.
I’m not good at planning and neither at partying … Irish Pub sounds good, though, the Jameson Pub looks very nice from the pictures.

Another thing:

There is one of Europe’s biggest open-air museums in the surroundings of Köln. You get there with the train, but should allow for some time, since you need at least two hours to walk around and have a quick look, more if you want to look a bit closer
It’s not entirely medieval, but there are houses built in 16th century, so it will be certainly interesting.

A short description in english

I will go there either Thursday or Saturday. If anyone is there and has some time to spend outside of the gamescom, I would be very glad to have some company :octopus:

I also would like to pay a visit to this beautiful Renaissance castle:

The museum looks nice, but it seems very far away… :frowning:
So I think its not a good idea for this meeting. Jameson Pub is most far away from cologne main train station (HBF), Corconian irish Pub or Barney Valleys Pub are in the same area, not far away from each other and its easy to get there from the train station. Jameson Pub is also not far away, but the other two are way more easy to go to.

Yes, it’s about 1:40 to get there. It’s not suited for meeting, of course, just if someone has this day to spend.
I’ll still go there at Thursday. All alone, probably :disappointed:

Pub: What about Anno Pief? Looks like it’s just over the bridge from Gamescom.

The museum looks realy nice, I would go there, but I am on gamescom on Thursday

Anno Pief looks really nice, like a typical cologne pub and less as a tourist trap. I will try to phone with them.

Edit:
Jameson Pub will be full on saturday at gamescom, no room for a group like us. Corconian pub sais they don´t make reservations, we could come. When there is still room, it would be fine, if not… then not. Barney Valleys can not tell anything yet, they ask if I could ask tomorrow. Similar with Anno Pief, I could not speak with this guys, because no one answers the phone.

I already see us strolling through the dark streets, getting lost in Cologne while searching for a pub that can beer with us
