I can get behind the preset name, that’s one thing (think mass effect, i.e, “shepherd”)
However… One thing I can not even begin to comprehend is “having options is not always good thing” I have no idea how to even respond without shouting… Maybe it’s just me, but I tend to be more creative with a blank piece of canvas, than a half finished painting. Too many options? TOO MANY OPTIONS? At least in mass effect you could choose your own history and appearance, and because of the preset name, we had no problems with voice acting.
Something that may guide you? Guide me to what? I can’t work with dry clay…
Game flow? Obviously it would be at the start, how could this interrupt flow that has not began?
It isn’t my fault most people can not create interesting characters on their own, I can’t help but feel punished. Additionally, I assume your character in this will be voiced acted, I’m not sure how to feel about that, since I certainly (I hope you agree here) won’t be able to play a rouge, with the voice of a knight or bard, they simply carry themselves differently in conversation, plus the tone I imagine my character having ina certain situation, will not be able to come across correctly. This of course can be partly fixed by multiple versions of the MC being recorded.
I don’t know why others would want predetermined characters… Why not play the witcher or something? Think about replay-ability… The same character in every way other than class, and decisions… Wonderful.
