What weapons do you legally possess in real life? Do you wander armed?

Would a gun help with that though?

Really would anything besides stab proof body armor help? Your best bet would be a fast ambulance trip to the hospital.

thats life , if some crazy guy runs up behind you and thrusts a knife into you i doubt your gun would be alot of good as he stabs you over and over

ohh come on now lets be realistic here

this is a clip from the documentary i was talking about but as its called " caught on camera " its hard to find on youtube haha

not sure if you can view this from the US

http://www.channel5.com/shows/caught-on-camera/episodes/episode-1-629

have a watch of how its done here

so they mostly just get to laugh at drunk people

I actually get goose bumps from reading here how comfortable you are with total government overwatch and absolute loss of privacy. I really am happy I live in a post-communist country in which people know and remember what it is like to lose their civil rights - including privacy - and are ready to fight it. Yes, we do have some cameras on the streets, but the way UK population has consented with being totally monitored, that is beyond me.

Also the fact that you actually believe the propaganda about this actually making everyone safe is horrendously stupid. Yes, there will be instances like the ones the cops will put forward and proudly show how they saved someone. Meanwhile ten other robberies, attacks and rapes are happening beyond what they are - and what they physically can - monitor. And those other people are left defenseless.

I especially suppose that most of the policing is taking place in the “good part” of the town, while the places with highest crime rates are left off
like in Rotherham. And with the victims left totally helpless.

Just stop and think about it for a second. If the system really worked that well, you would have all the criminals caught, convicted and jailed within three months. There would next-to-no crime on the streets left.

In reality, London is insanely more dangerous place than Prague.

So what you’re saying is by just walking down the street in London i could be targeted as a criminal? Wow that’s nice.

A minute is all someone needs to kill or seriously injure you. Im willing to bet it would take the police at 2 minutes to get to you by that time you could easily be dead or dying.

If a guy with a knife charged me i would have a chance to get a shot off on him. Also people are less likely to go after victims armed with a gun.

Would have a better chance than you would. Look at the trayvon martin case. George Zimmerman was being beaten brutally on the ground by

20 years ago mass surveillance was laughed off as science fiction and crazy theories. Now look at the NSA and cities like London and Chicago.
you clearly have read about Rotherham and jumped the gun of knowing exactly what it was .

it was a lack of action on cases that happened in the privacy of someone’s home not rape cases on the streets .
can we stop making silly comparisons . prague has a population of 1.2 million and london has close to 9 million

NO . if you walk down the streets with your hood up with some mates all hooded up following a lone person for a strange amount of time then yes you may have a police car pull up and ask a few questions etc
their is a HUGE difference between monitoring private calls and you being on camera in a PUBLIC place .
when a police car drives past is that impeding your privacy ?

One of my family members was a former police officer, a training video like this was still used when she was being trained.

Yes that’s why i said a distance of 15 feet. How ever if he could get the gun out he could eliminate his attacker.

I think I missed that.

Yeah we already discussed the distance and all that in the knife attack thread.

Drawing your gun at someone at 15 feet either in a crowded street or at night seems like something few people can pull off.

At night? Streets would have little to no foot traffic and the streets would be more than bright enough due to street lamps.

I suppose it differs across the pond.

Well im sure there would be people who ever we were talking about a some what deserted street.

You should have watched movies like your mother told you.

If you did then you’d know that deserted streets always lack light or have flickering light. Many also have convenient alleys and strategically placed trash cans where murder hobos hide to get the jump on you.

@Dushin, if you are attacked with a knife, well, you are getting stabbed notwithstanding whether you are armed or not.

The difference is that when you are armed, you have a good chance to bring the pain back and eliminate the attacker before you pass out. When you are not armed, you are done.

I guess everything was said? We are discussing the same thing over and over again.

I invite everyone for a deeper weapon conversation here:
