Add the ability to become a lord and build a castle?

I love what i had read from kickstarter i mean honestly this game is going to leave the elder scrolls and fallout series in the dust.

But how cool would you think it would be if we had the option to build a castle and the larger it got and the more fame our name acquired the more peasants would come looking for shelter; they all had different skills be it in farming, blacksmith, or all the other amazing skills that will be in this game. You can train, them, make armor for them, in a sense be the king of that land; and have men follow you as escorts, have little minie wars against other lords, I mean this topic is endless with ideas.

I don’t know if they will ever add this but i am just trying to figure out how many people would find this pretty cool if they did; and what the pros and cons would be if they would add this. And feel free to add your ideas as well. I love talking about this stuff.

Why not using a topic that already exists???

And personally, I think and hope that nothing of the above should/will be in the game.

but why? what would be so bad if this happened

This is an excellent idea, i liked how you could become King and manage your kingdom in Fable 3. This game would be awesome if warhorse implemented this idea

Waste of time and resources tbh. And it would possibly damage the story-driven vision of the game imo.

This game should contain as less Skyrim as possible imho.

Fble 3 was a great game, i too loved the whole management of the kingdom and kinda like that with hearthfire dlc in skyrim. if this game would pull a stunt like this I THINK it would be one of the best rpgs out there

Why not becoming Pope, managing the believersm, or even God, managing the whole planet…

There it goes, the realism and historical believability…

BTW Fable 3 is one of the most terrible RPGs out there. If you want to know why just watch AngryJoe’s video on it. I agree on almost every point he brings forward.

this is true it could damage the story line, but seeing as we only know that he is a blacksmith’s son and only a few other details, i think they can add it in

Fable 3 was pretty terrible on the rpg mechanics, i just loved the management system, it was kinda what brought to thinking of how fun it would be if they made an amazing rpg with strategy mechanics in it as well

OF course they COULD add it in but it wouldn’t add anything to the vision they already have for the game. This is a SP story-driven RPG and not some kind of medieval The Sims…

Get it on PC and wait for the modding community to toy around with the mod tools. I’m sure they’ll make something like this possible.

I think it would be very difficult to do this in a way that plausibly fits the story. To rise from blacksmith to knight in those days would already be quite a feat; to go from blacksmith to lord would be pretty much unheard of. It’s not just a matter of making lots of money or being a skilled warrior.

This is true, but think of it this way, if you have played skyrim; you would know that you came in to be beheaded, and you some how were the dragonborn, became jarls’ thanes, I mean you could even join the people who were trying to kill you. where it was near to impossible to become a knight from a blacksmith and even RARER to become lord; this could be one of those storylines where the super rare happens.

or this could be realistic and authentic which was the reason we all backed the game…right?

“super rare” isn’t a good basis for a realism game as there is no consistency from which gameplay mechanics and events can be referenced.

You’re right about becoming a thane and what not in skyrim but then again, that’s a fantasy game that has its own lore and history to it where literally anything can happen. Kingdom come is more realistic in the sense that you are not the “chosen” one who defeats all the odds and can go rambo on everyone who gets in your way. If anything its a nice change from all the other RPGs out there where you are the hero who pretty much pulls off everything he or she shouldn’t.
