Armor. Light or heavy

Hey. So I hope you all are enjoying a game and I have some questions. What armor do you favor so far? I’m using plate armor atm with longsword without shield and kinda enjoying it. I don’t have problem with stamina but still I want to ask if there is someone who is going with full light armor? What is your opinion and experience with it? What weapon do you favor?

Also for that longsword I have to drop a note that I learned all combos related to head dmg or combos that have blunt dmg with longsword so that solve most fight vs heavy armored opponents.

But honestly I still have problem with multiple opponents when all of them have shields. ( I know that I could use bow or sneaking or anything else but sometime you are just at bad place in bad time :D)

Your opinion?

Revive, one, two, three :stuck_out_tongue:

Light armour seems broken currently in the game, I’ve been playing around with it using light armour perk. No matter what you can’t have any hand or arm/shoulder armour even if they are leather otherwise you lose the light armour perk. Strangely you can use full chainmail armour and not lose it which doesn’t make any sense, hopefully they will fix it. I think light armour should work more on total weight of equipped + flexibility allowing gambeson, gloves and breast plate.

That being said it still is fun, its a lot more challenging, you can dodge a lot easier and faster. You normally have to sneak around and loosen them up a bit using a bow then pulling out a longsword striking to the head.

Using a mod to remove the arrow trails and loosening up the targeting locking system makes it a lot more fun.

I tried many different playstyles (so far only 97 hours of playtime, still not done even with first playthrough  ), but so far light armor (usually just a gambeson on body) and stealth works best for me.
You can tell how much faster you are when you are not clad in plate armor. That agility helps a lot.
I’ve tried using a saber. You can slice enemies incredibly fast with it…and if there is any armored enemy, I just draw a warhammer and cave its helm together with skull in one or two hits.
I feel kinda more save with that light armor and agility than while being in full plate armor.

Ha nice, i haven’t tried the saber or warhammer yet, will have to when i get a chance.

I’ve used hungarian sabre - most of cuman group leaders have them. Warhammer is one from “secret” treasure near Rattay (minor spoiler - from ruin of brick building in area where you are supposed to catch three nightingales). But any mace will do I guess. They crush plate armor with such ease.

I found the dodge action to be largely inferior to parrying/riposting, so I feel like light armor doesn’t have much advantage over heavy, except in weight.

I prefer light armor on normal game and travels, and plate for particular big battles.

But as you said (and other users reported) here:

Light armor related to gloves and some leather parts is currently broken in games, because it disables light armor perk (agility and better chance to miss enemy attacks)

Chain based armor could be considered as medium armor, but for simplicity, I think is light armor too (as in game now).

Note: with light armor more kg to carry loot among secondary weapons, and food.

full plate, mail chausses, cloth armor, cloth coif, and a mail coif over that. i always use a pigface helmet

Honestly carrying loot is no problem when you can get better horse. I would not even take it as Con maybe.

For my stealth focused character, and for robbery (only from the rich of course) is an extra
