Yeah, same issue here. I’m a little over 35 hours into the game, and now as of today, I can’t launch my game anymore. There’s no way in hell I can restart from the beginning, especially considering it’d be possible to just end up facing the exact same bug again anyways. Severely disappointing and upsetting. Was having a great time with the game in spite of the large number of flaws, but now I literally can’t even play it.
Same here, cannot load any current or previous saves. It’s not like it’s a minor thing too. So many people are encountering the same issue. This is getting kind of bad hopefully the next patch fixes this or the support tries to help us.

Same issue here. I’m a backer, and I had to stop playing the beta demo because at some point it was impossible to load saved games. Two years later and with the game released we still have the same issue, which is a complete show stopper and totally ruins the game experience that we deserve after backing and trusting you these last years. I’m starting to think that this is the real reason for the save system implemented in the game, avoiding the fact that you still haven’t figured out how to persist the game’s current state correctly. Are we going to have a solution for this, or are you just going to ignore us as usual?

me to was fine a few hours ago then the it just said game load failed i hope someone fine a solution soon i don’t want to have to ask for a refund.

after a bit of testing i found out this only affects some of my saves some of my old ones still work so it must me an error in the saves them self’s probably corruption.

After playing 39 hours, I now experience this issue.
I played for this time without game-breaking bugs, but now, the game will not load any more at all. It keeps me stuck in the loading screen after I selected the first option on Main Menu. Before, I never had any issues like this, I restarted my PC and the game multiple times.
This happens to every savegame on my first walkthrough (no idea if this is stated correctly, I am playing the game in German and do not know the correct words from the english Main Menu). When I start a new “career”, it will start ASAP, no problems. But even when I try to load my old savegame, it will get stuck on the loading screen.
If you imagine the loading icon as a clock, it will get stuck on a bit after the 3, like 16min or something, if that helps anything.

New update!
I managed to load an older savegame from that “folder”. I now only lost like 7-9 hours of playing time, I hope this gets fixed soon.

Same issue, can’t load my saves… forces me to restart a new game. Not OK… not starting again. We need a fix for this.

Also having the same issue. Problem seems to have occurred since the last patch. I had to use a save prior to the “Den of Vipers” quest. I’ve tried several times to progress beyond this point, all attempts have resulted in the displayed error. “Game Load Failed”.

So, I think I figured out… it’s after you turn you robber baron that the saves become bugged. anything after this turn in will not load.

Exactly as Sirviro said. Same things happened. What a let down. Any other bugs is O.K but this one is damn huge to ignore!

Never did the Robber Baron Quest and have this issue, just uninstalled and reinstalled the game. Didn’t work…

This is happening on Xbox one x also, I’ve done robber baron and loaded a few times since, but today just says failed to load.
What’s weird is I have no auto saves since after robber baron, all of them are manual and it’s like robber baron broke the auto saves

I had the same Problem, but I get it fixed by backtracking where it comes from.
I knocked out a wandering Knight at the Road with the Special Head-hitting-Knockout skill. That probadly broke my save file. I had to replay about 4 Hours but after that workaround the new save file seams to be fine. This is just a try to explain what happened to your save files no official workaround. But it was just after the Robber Baron.

I think the solution is for everybody to ask for a refund, warhorse could be looking at a massive lawsuit over this. This by no way meets the criteria for a playable game that is worth the full msrp

Same exact thing. After i turned in robber baron. I played quite a while after this, so it’s hard for me to say if that’s the exact cause. This is the SECOND time this game has given me a game ending glitch. I put in 35+ hours into this play through. I understand the limitations of smaller game studios, and the bugs that come from release, but this is inexcusable. I thought the game was nearly unplayable with the other bugs but now it actually is. It breaks my heart because I was having such a great time, but if they don’t patch this for us, I think I’m done playing and will ask for a refund.
