1.000.000 Stretch Goal

1 000 000! We’re there folks!

Congratulations 1M is awesome

Well done everyone!!

I am happy for the dog - because as I think I know Warhorse, I am pretty sure the dog would not be of much use in a fight, except for maybe distracting the enemy for a moment or so - afterall, one swing of the sword and this is an ex-dog:-) Just having a four legged companion, maybe helping with hunting, guarding you when you sleep, such “small” things…

Im all in for a dog, It can be a great add on or it could ruin the game.
As long as its done right, it can work.

Im just afraid the dog will be just like fable 2 Hah!

Just like in real life, Dogs can be good or bad, I keep picturing a scene in my head where you a hiding from a group of thieves/bandits whatever in the woods. Then the dog lets out a single bark alerting the thieves to your presence/location.

We need realism, Dogs can act positively or negatively in your adventure. I would like to see both.

A dog would be another mouth to feed, If its a good tracker/small game dog, it wouldnt be a problem.
Otherwise, if you have a bear of a dog that you keep around for protection/intimidation and isnt used for hunting, and food is already an issue…who would you feed when you come across a little food? Yourself or the Dog?

The dog cant be in “god mode”. For it to work for realism, We have to bond with the said dog, and mourn its passing. Then possibly acquire another hoping it was half as good as your departed friend.

This is just my opinion, I am entitled.

I’m actually not liking the idea of this… Dogs in games always have this telepathic connection to the owner which allows you to use them like an extension of yourself in magical ways. There is going to be a VERY fine line between this feeling interesting and feeling contrived. I was actually kinda hoping they wouldn’t make this stretch goal just because I don’t think this will feel right for the kind of gameplay they’re going for.

Have you ever seen a trained hunting dog for example? They don’t bark for nothing. They do what they are trained to do, much better than any human could do it.

I have family who train hunting dogs and go to competitions… and the dogs will help bring in groceries and do exactly what they’re told. It’s amazing how well trained they can be. Not every dog can be trained though, and you have to start young. And even then, you have to train them for a while on every new thing you want them to do. It’s going to be very difficult to get a game dog to feel realistic and still be useful without it feeling like you’re working with a dog that can read your mind.

Personally I like the thought of getting a dog companion in the game; dogs are lovely companions after all! Though realism might be a tad rough- that being said… I quite much adored the one that one had in Dragon age for example, but that might be mostly due to finding it amusing.
