no sleep till game is out
Reading through this topic is exciting. Watching this unfolding, hope it will be with happy ending. I like bugs, thatâs what an alpha is for. Of course, they should not be radioactive bugs though.
Never mind, you should now go the kitchen, destroy coffe machine and hide all energy drinks otherwise there will be no game at all!
I donât say this to blame them, this is a serious question.
I truly hope they work with a branching version control system like SVN or something, otherwise I doubt I spent my money wisely.
The fact that the project isnât progressing as planned (plan was: stable version of the game ready at Oct 22nd, no promises, but a plan) is giving me the impression of bad planning.
As I stated before, they could have branched away a version which is stable and keep it ready while working on other branches or the trunk. Please do not respond to this post, if you donât understand these sw-development / version-control terms. Thank you.
I would like Twitch live stream of whats going on
Do you know the Warhorseâs twiitch link?
We must be tough! (20 charactersâŠ)
Not any worse that the final release version of Skyrim. Donât be too hard on yourselves!
Any one know if they have a twitch?
I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU
They did their live stream via youtube, so I doubt they got a twitch account
are they live on youtube?
noo dont remove the bug with the flying woman; I want to see it!!
No need to be rude. You have explained your point and I of course understand it now. But I would still argue:
- this is not a question for Tobi / this topic (his educated answer would be lost there)
- I would rather get more polished version of alpha tomorrow than older version now. Why? Because frankly I donât think the date is that important in this case. And as someone mentioned Dan - as it seems - promised 22nd-27th of October anyway.
Nothing isnât progressing as planned. That is pretty common I suppose or it at least doesnât mean the planning was bad. There may be many possible reasons of the delay. (E.g. limited resources available to Warhorse.)
I donât want to start an argument, so I wish you good night. But please donât be that harsh on the first alpha release. It does not make sense. I donât see any reason for it frankly. To assume they are not working well just because there are some problems with first alpha release donât seem wise to me. Consider Hal-Life, it was delayed for a year and it was still great game. Without doubt the best action game of itâs generation.
Yes sure they are filming their biggest stresssituation ever! COME ON!
Pizza company is closed yet
I understand your feeling but from my own experience there is always THIS certain thing that you want to add to your software and even if you have a stable version it doesnât do THIS. So because you donât want to waste what you just implemented, you try your best to get a stable version with THIS, especially when there is no urge, like for this case (except maybe the one coming from the fans and the pressure they put on themselves). Of course I donât know if itâs truly the case but it seems probable to me, and even if not itâs not really a matter of life and death right ? I personnaly prefer to have a delayed stable version of all the functionnalities they have implemented until now than only part of it with no delay or with major bugs. Anyway I (we) waited some time, I (we) can wait some more.
(When there is so much people working together itâs just not possible to work without a branching version control system, I think we agree on that )
Take your time, weâll play it tomorrow morning
It will come in time my citizens!
