We do have people of other skin colors here. Sure they are a small minority, but they are here.
Immigrants, some where adopted and naturally refuges. In the early 90ties it was from Somalia, later from Bosnia.
Then from some Afghanistan⊠now it is from Syria.,
(And the fact that my father is not âwhiteâ as most Danes since my grandfather is from PakistanâŠ)
And sure we got problems with some ghettos that got a majority of âpeople of other ethnicityâ And there are more problems with crime there then the average.
But is that because the skin color? or problems with lower education, lower income, a higher % of person with mental problems (because of exposure to war).
Ghettos with poor income families that are âdanishâ. also have more problems with crime.
I traveled from New York to Gettysburg, -> D.C. -> Virginia, Then west to Shiloh on to Vicksburg, then down to New Orleans, then true Florida to S.C. And then north back to Virginia, a short stop at Gettysburg again before going to New York⊠took 3 weeks in total.
So you are correct that I mainly went to the nicer places and had more to do with whites than blacks. And where no where near the border zone to Mexico.
I can tell you why a gay marriage gets more news cover. Because the political/religious right wing is way more interested in stopping gay rights⊠than solving the real problems of the US. (crime, poverty, national debt, unemployment, lack of universal healthcareâŠ)

Since most of the people living in America are non-native, they all are immigrants. The African people in the USA are there because of the crimes of the greedy white people enslaving them and not tolerating them as equals since then. Since people of the same country tend to stick together (called ghetto in a deteriorating way) they do not assimilate as quickly as they would if they mingle. That, however, only works when people around them are tolerant enough to welcome them and not eye them with scepticism and predjusdice.
This is not only true for black people, it is true for all ethnicities in any country. Without jobs, respect and prespective their way of life eventually takes a turn for the worse.This starts a downward spiral that can only be broken by hard work and is made easier by a tolerant environment. Europe is generally known for hospitality. That is why eg Norway has all kinds of people in their big cities (Oslo for example) working and living together without problems.
So living in a âghettoâ does not really help to stick to the right path. Intolerant neighbours also contribute to the issue.
However, crime should be punished regardless of heritage. If immigrants act against the law, they forfeit their right to live in this country. Just as we would be deported from a foreign nation. With many generations already living in a country you canât just send off the whole family to where ever they came from. I also donât support immigrants forcing their culture around them, if they move to another country, they have to adapt to it and not adapt the country to their own liking. Thatâs what makes the âindigenousâ mad at immigrants and wonât help the immigrants assimilating to their new home. If you donât speak their languange and donât want to: go where you came from. This is not how you contribute to the country you live in.
