So you let them stab you to death?? Good luck fighting someone pumped full of adrenaline and meth who has a knife with nothing but a taser or mace. They feel invincible on these kinds of drugs. Its your life or there’s in these kinds of situations. Civilian tasers have proven time and time again to fail in the case of a real attacker. Someone on meth may even take a few shots to the chest to bring down with a gun. So you think a little wimpy taser is going to do something? If you get attacked by someone and you pull a gun most intelligent people would surrender. If they don’t then you have to do what’s necessary to survive. Sorry if you make a choice and do meth then grab a knife and try to kill someone then you shouldn’t be surprised if you get shot. Ask police about meth related attacks. There have been cops that have shot someone twice in the chest with a 12 gauge shotgun from 10 feet away to bring them down because they got up and kept running after the first shot and you think a taser will bring them down lol. You think that everyone carrying a pistol is a trigger happy manic who just wants to blow people away at the first sign of trouble. There was a shooting in a mall in and a man had a concealed pistol and stopped the shooter without firing a shot. You should really look into people stopping crimes with concealed weapons. Half of them didn’t kill the criminal. Ill use this as an example a man stopped someone from stealing his car and held him at gun point until police arrived no one was killed.

If they really were so effective why don’t cops carry them instead of pistols? Also ive someone is walking around with a 12 gauge shotgun in public pretty sure the police are going to be pretty suspicious of that. but if hes walking around with a 12 inch knife in his coat police aren’t going to be able to tell.
You cant say the USA doesn’t make you have permits and background checks. Its different in each state some states do require background checks some don’t. Some states you need permits others you don’t. What’s funny is that the states that have background checks and permits have the highest murder rates in the country. Most cities like the capitol of my state bans semi automatic weapons but they have the much higher crime then places that don’t. You can claim its because people can drive to that city with a gun but the majority of murders done in the cities are done by people who live in those cities. My state bans magazines that are larger than 10 bullets but the man who shot up the movie theatre in aurora was able to buy them locally when they were illegal. So that law totally saved lives man. Most states contrary to popular belief ban automatic weapons like my state. This hasn’t helped seeing my state had the columbine shooting which was done with shotguns and pistols and the Aurora shooting which was the worst shooting in American history by people hit by bullets.
Yes, that would be preferable, if we could all hold hands and sing Cumba Ya together. Unfortunately, in many places, including unarmed nations like UK or Poland, it is not like that. Thank you, that is great. However, not everyone can move to places like Switzerland, which are among the safest in Europe (FYI, Switzerland also happens to have the highest number of firearms per capita in Europe).

you dont know much about london do you … the met dont police the centre of london …city police do , id invite you to come to london and walk around a bit most police you will see are indeed armed and every single police car in the centre is an armed response unit
2500 police isn’t that much for a big city like London. I highly doubt you’ve seen all of them. Why would they need assualt rifles as you claim if there’s just stabbings there?

also id like to see your source for you number of police officers who are armed becaus they seem a little out of date the last two years has seen a massive increase of armed police on the streets ok the UK also now most police carry tasers
also along side the city of London police is the transport police who are for a large part armed within London.
Again why does your police need assault rifles to deal with stabbings? I think you’re exaggerating just by a bit. If that is true that every cop on every corner is armed like the military then you have become a police state just like we have.
Why is there such a massive increase of armed police in UK if it is such a safe and happy place? The number of legally owned firearms by civilians in the Czech Republic doubled in the past fifteen years, yet the number of policemen dropped significantly (crime stats did too).
Either you don’t know UK firearm laws or you don’t know the Czech, but in any case they are worlds apart and have nothing in similar, except that both require a license. However getting a gun license in the Czech Republic is more like getting a driving license. Getting a gun license in UK is like getting an advance cancer treatment - you are better off if you simply move to the Czech Republic than trying it at home. Like Aysha.

Yeah bullshit ive talked to people in your country (there are quite a few people who moved to my area from Britain) who like guns and have told me how hard it is to get one there. Your own national hero Piers Morgan constantly says how hard it is to get guns in the U.K and attributes that to the low gun crime. If you don’t mind me asking what guns have you shot? Most people who are very anti gun till they shoot them.

i am glad my government goes overkill on the safety of the people it is pledged to protect , the aim should be prevention not reaction .
by having so many armed POLICE it acts as a deterrent to terrorists so they dont bother . right now there is a huge danger of an attack on london so much so that armed troops are on the streets around places such as horse guards , tower of london etc

it is very easy to obtain a weapon licesne in the uk providing you have somewhere to shoot it , simple as if you dont then its near impossible . ive lived here my entire life
