That guy had no reasons to attack the police many knife victims are stalked first or the person is on drugs which is easily noticeable and the cop would be on his guard.
unless you walk around gun in hand 24/7 you wont be ready and when it comes you will be in shock as well and off guard … no chance
maybe not. just becuase he coulnt draw his weapon fast enough does not mean he will fail to defend himself. In these type of situation your not likley to feel pain due to the emense amount of adrenaline pumping through you this helps because then you can focus more on defending yourself then the fact that your hurt.
A lot of people carry a gun 24/7 on their person weather its concealed or not. Open carry is legal here many people choose to conceal it because people tend to go into histeria for people practicing their second amendment right. When trayvon martin was on top of George Zimmerman brutally beating him Zimmerman managed to get his pistol out and shoot him.

Oh and George you are just proving our point as to why knives are much more deadly than guns are.
A professional pistol shooter and quick drawer demonstrated that the safest thing to do when someone comes at you with a knife is to drop to the ground which will give you more time to pull the gun and give you a clear shot.
But you will also be immobile and open for a stab. And if you’re against a fit and athletic Person, then you have no chance with a distance of 3 metres.
@Daniel_Boon But a hit to your arm can weaken it and make you pretty much unable to use it effectivly.
If you drop on your back while drawing your side arm it will throw the attacker off balance and give your self a chance to shoot him.
If you get the proper training it can be done. The average mugger with a knife will have no training but the majority of people using pistols are trained in self defense. A hit to your arm wouldn’t disable your arm unless it hit a major muscle or tendon. Stabbing is the most effective way to use a knife against a person.

Yeah going to go with a self defense instructor over someone with next to no experience in self defense or firearms. Guys like him teach self defense courses to civilians who carry guns so im pretty sure they would do alright against some junkie who doesn’t know what he is doing.
Most muggers are fit, now. Why would it put him off balance? If he’s right infront of you he may fall ontop of you with his knife. It’ll get you off-Balance more then the guy wielding the knife. He’ll get extra time, because it’ll be hard to draw a gun while falling and the second recovery afterwards.
I take it you know a lot of muggers? No most muggers are drug addicts who want money for a quick fix and are horribly un healthy. Im going with a self defense instructor over you guys.
Yeah, but have you ever walked in a ghetto? Here in Germany we don#t have ghettos, but I’ve never seen a drug addict mugger. I don’t know where you get it from that muggers are drug addicts and unhealthy?
FBI statistics friend. Majority of violent crime is drug related. The attacker usually has high levels of some kind of drug in his system, meth, speed, most recently bathsalts. If you’re attacked by a black person you are kinda screwed for some reason all of them ripped at the age of 5 i think its because we brought all the strong ones over from Africa a while back. But even then they will be on some kind of drugs which could lower there common sense level like charging someone with a knife from 20 feet back. You guys have ghettos but all the people who lived in them are no longer living. But that reason is why i dont support gun control the holocaust could have been stopped by an armed uprising and i hope you can at least agree with me on that.
