Only way to know if I’m looking at the same chest as you all is with a picture. It’s situated with a white cloth in front of it , behind a log and next to a log stool
There are treasure chests with maps, you probably picked one up without having the map or having bought it and not realized it.
i mean in all reality i had stuff that compared to this from talemburg when i shot a guard who was beafy in the eye with a arrow its not that big of a deal besisdes its expensive to maintain
That’s not even the most expensive stuff in the game, The Italian full helmet is like 3.5k I believe, cant remember the name, I have it all since I just robbed all the merchants blind. I don’t recognize the black and white cross shoulder guards with crosses, vendors don’t sell that.
It’s DLC stuff, if you pre-ordered the game u got 5 maps for 5 different cages with stuff like that
They big ol’ DLC armor is the best.
So it seems this spot was patched, thank you for not replying. I have to reload a 5 hour savegame

I stumbled upon this site early in my game as well. I also thought it was very strange to find 10k worth of items in an unguarded, unlocked chest just besides the road. Was sure it was bugged. Maybe there’s supposed to be some NPCs living in that camp,guarding the chest?
This might be one of the better armor combinations you can get, very Charismatic helmet. You can make a few improvements, but a great start early in the game. (wonder if it’s still there post patch)
might be a reward for exploration? that spot is where a connection point to a different region might be based on the epilogue so could be a surprise for people who want to go there and check out that happens if they keep going down that road
Chest loot is random but it seems to be grouped by certain groups of loot in chests out in the wild.
well i already loaded up an old save game and i have more fun this way. I like building up my character… go in the wild to earn some money, and not find it in an unlocked box and have the best gear in the game lol
