It’s still not an excuse tbh. The game shouldn’t have bugs at launch. I think thats a alot better starting point than launch game fix later mentality.
a game this size they can only know the bug exist if player report it after release its impossible to know the bugs before release
Dude the game is in a very unfinished state. That is not good for a fully released game PERIOD.
Well, most review sites are bribed to give good reviews, so I don’t take them too seriously. Rather hear from my fellow gamers. That being said, I’ve watched some gameplay on Twitch and they do have a point.
Sure it’s hard find them all but i don’t understand why are you defending wh for releasing the game with this many bugs, dont get me wrong im liking the game.
Yes, it is totaly possible to love this game AND be dissapointed with it at the same time. Anyone who has children knows this
am not defending them its just my opinion am enjoying this game so much ive never enjoyed a game that much and i have encountered 2 game breaking bugs so far one made me fail a side quest. other one is that the R2 doesn’t work for ps4 i had to switch the controller to l2 then it was fixed above all that there are texture pop up in my game still i think this is the best game iver ever played
hahah
Cheers, then we agree. Best game I have ever played.
Yeh, one of the better ones i have played as well.
and i know its off topic but the fact that this game budget is 5mil $ and a game like skyrim is 85mil $ i dont know how the hell its possible so really WH done a great job
I’m on PS4. Started playing today and I assume the game is fully patched. It’s an interresting game for sure, but the hours I have played so far have been full of annoying issues and design blunders.
How many damn times do the guards have to search me? It interrupts quests and have caused me to fail one quest, that was timed. The game was not ready for release to be honest. There are too many obvious issues that should have been fixed first.
Dude these scores are warranted I’ve gotten stuck on the main quest line twice once as a monk due to a game breaking bugs and I am currently stuck being unable to fire a trebuchet to start the final quest.
Honestly I would probably give this a 7.5/10.
I enjoy the setting, the storyline and the combat for the most part, but I feel that the current save system and the amount of bugs does bring it down a bit for me.
The music is great, but some of the voice acting quality is a bit inconsistent. Generally the emotional scenes are really well acted, but I find general conversations feel much stiffer and don’t flow as well.
Overall it’s a very good game, especially for the first game from a new studio, but I can’t with all honesty rate it among the best games I have ever played.
At this point, I’d give it an . . . 8.75 / 10 . . . so basically a 9/10. ONLY reasons I deduct a point:
- Rage inducing Prologue action sequence which could have been avoided by simply making it clear to the user: “This is a tutorial with some scripted action sequences . . .”
- lack of distinction between colliding versus passable bushes (foliage).
- Excessive use of “realism” striving animations, especially in the alchemy bench, and lack of any option to reduce the amount of camera movement or disable it completely. Literally causes dizziness!
- Some very minor issues (not really part of point deduction, but notable as an area where a future title could be improved) with lack of variety in art or sounds. E.G., one breed of dog, fairly limited horse animations, somewhat limited NPC idle animations . . . Lack of a third person camera is a biggie, but I wouldn’t deduct points for that, knowing how enormous the amount of work it would be to build that into a game like this with so many different possible protagonist models to animate. Still, another good one for them to consider “investing in” for a future title.
Based on what I heard about how bugged it was shortly after launch: (A) 7/10 doesn’t sound too off the mark; (b) what was that quote by Shigeru Miyamoto?
https://www.brainyquote.com/photos_tr/en/s/shigerumiyamoto/443939/shigerumiyamoto1-2x.jpg
“A Delayed game is eventually good, but a rushed game is forever bad.”
Apologies in advance for selective quote. To me, for KCD to achieve a 9 or better at least one missed Kickstarter target needs to be added or design porn needs to be culled from HC mode
One thing bothers me more now than upon launch… that is WH intentionally made is so that Henry wasn’t a superman type character but Henry being the only one to use horse in gameplay makes him so.
Yeah, I get that WH (Daniel) didn’t like mounted NPC behavior and so pulled the plug on them. That technical concession has made Henry a superhero. Not to mention that in an area with 3-4 stables, it’s beyond peculiar that nobody else rides a horse
