How about that new Teaser Trailer?!?!?!?!

I think it fits perfectly. IMO having authentic music all the time wouldn’t work well. I agree that it would be nice to have it in the game in some occasions, but I definitely wouldn’t want it to be exclusive. Orchestral music is a must for creating good atmosphere, especialy in a trailer/teaser.

Also, here is a link to the official website of that villiage, 600 years after. http://www.samopse.cz/

Loved it. Can’t wait to try this thing out

That trailer really gave me the feeling that this game is setting in the Dark Ages, and that I began to doubt the name “The Dark Ages” is a bad name for that age.
It really had much information about the game like there are small villages complete with a whole community with every character serving his role in this small society.
Also the beginning of the trailer feels like you wake up in a world where everything is fresh and natural.
That a day starts anew with a smell of grain, hay, bark and conifers. That a day starts to work at the farm to keep your community well fed and to keep it well supplied with common tools and luxury goods. That you work with a purpose.
And I hope that religion also plays a big part in this game, but not to Catholic, more like Thomas Aquino intended that this world is lend to you by god and that you must preserve it and be thankful for it by cherishing god and respect him by paying your respects to everything you take from the world (I am not religious, but if I lived in the Dark Ages, I probably would be and that the way to go is like Thomas Aquino intended).

Best promo for Samopše ever? I have never heard a word about the village - while I have been to the general area of Rataje and Sazava several times.

Haha, definitely, although I’m not sure whether those 130 inhabitants need it.

I Personally think the music was one of the things that made this trailer so awesome! The music was beautiful and very kind on the ears, along with the way they showed the calm lives of the citizens rather then a bloody battle with music with lots of brass and bass. That said, I will repeat myself, without the music, i dont think this trailer could have been as amazing as it was. Great job WH!

Daniel wanted that kind of orchestral music, but he also wants small combos for pubs which will play typical medieval music that some of you were expecting.

The music in the trailer is so chilling, so beautiful. I’m wondering if that’s going to be part of the main theme. I hope we’ll get several vatiations of a main theme. Unlike many of today’s opinions from composers and sound designers, I want soundtracks to have a unique melody (leitmotif) that is memorable even if it is distracting at some point.

Exactly! Although i dont get your meaning of distracting, but the chilling and beautiful part I agree with 100%

I have authentic music from that time belongs … if you are a believer, you might have a small chance. Otherwise threatens suicide - in the long run too gloomy for a game that will make joy and wants to distract from everyday life

Background music should stay in the background according to some composers and sound designers for interactive media. Therefore if it’s going to be too melodic it might be disctracting from the actual gameplay scene.

Actually it’s a lie to me and really wrong IMHO. Hopefully this soundtrack will prove it.

The immersion is super real. Love it.

Any chance for a direct download possiblity of the uncompressed HQ version of the teaser trailer (not streaming stuff like youtube)? Maybe you could send a raw HQ file to Gamershyde for example. Please, say yes…

And I say it again, this teaser is just great. Perfect combination of art design, visuals and audio.

Cool, thanks for the link! Checked Gamersyde a few hours ago but it wasn’t online then…

I wonder if Samopše is going to be plundered and torched in Sigismund’s Kuman invasion… I think more likely, this village will be the opening locale of the game, a place where our Henry finds his first refuge, and his sweetheart.

It is not a lie - as every movie editor knows. Just few composers are able to make excellent film music which could also hold one’s own as a music “for listening”. Ennio Morricone, Zbigniew Preisner, Yann Tiersen, Carter Burwell in Fargo… Despite the popularity of soundtracks overwhelming majority of them is crap - but still highly functional crap in the “vertical montage”.

You probably forgot the biggest and best of them all - John Williams.

I think is very important, agrees. Especially as yet to follow two acts …
Think of film series - Tudors / Rome / Band of Brothers (!!!) / Borgias etc.

unfortunately it is also :frowning:

And, you can of the Yerli’s keep what you want, with the Cryengine they have a powerful tool created, respect!
