I dont think it a bug, I mean you’re a Huntsman for Sir Divish, your game is only to go to him; everything else is still poaching. But yea, it’s probably my favorite thing about the game. Living as a Huntsman and frequenting the taverns to make sales and have a drink or two is really fun lol. Plus those woods are packed. I’m currently supposed to get Red Deer meat, Hare meat and Board meat…I have no idea how I’m supposed to get it all before some of it spoils but I’m gonna try lol
It’s definately a bug - I mean, you get searched by a Talmberg guard on the way to turn in a quest, you consent to a search… he takes all your game calling it stolen and you a thief.
Also, it’s clearly established the Master Huntsman doesn’t just provide game for Lord Divish - he gives pelts to the tanner (so says the tanner in one quest - he’s not getting enough from the Master huntsman to meet demand) and clearly provisions the butchers/innkeepers - otherwise, every single one who sells boar, deer meat or hare meat would be selling stolen goods. More than likely, they pay the master huntsman who then gives the money to the lord (which we wouldn’t do as Henry Master Huntsman, true)… but clearly all legit game doesn’t go just to the lord.
in fact, it’s probably a bug that hare is considered stolen… when it says clearly in the codex under hunting or poaching that poaching rules didn’t apply to hares - anyone is welcome to hunt them. Sir Hans even makes a comment: “true hunting isn’t chasing bunnys around with a pitchfork” - which, unless he accused Henry of poaching, would be considered a fair thing for commoners to do.
They should add the Tanner aspect to let you supply the town that way as well as hunting and work it out but just because you are huntsman, should not mean you can hunt all you want in Talmberg and then sell it in Rattay(unless maybe you can trade with their huntsman or have some interaction that way)…and that is what this is meant to keep from happening. Perhaps they should lift the “stolen” status throughout Talmberg but apply it elsewhere?
Also all of the missions you get to hunt come from the scribe who have orders from nobles like Stephanie or whatever…so there’s that.
for real though, I just wanna be the Talmberg Huntsman and provide meat to Talmberg and skins to the tanner and just do that until the game get DLC or vol2 comes out
Also I just finished the quest for the Huntsman…he said Sir Divish and Ladybug Stephanie have no more requests and the stores are full…so you fill the stores through the scribe, not by hunting and selling…but you get screwed, I got 70g for 220 red deer meat, 20 boar meat and 150 hare meat lol…gonna go sell the rest myself now
