It's the dog's .

So the 1m Stretch goal is looming we are at 985K with 25hrs left. It looks as though we will achieve the stretch goal easily. I would therefore like to request some info from Warhorse.

First. Will we be able to choose our dogs from dogs within the game or is it going to be something we will automatically have?
Second. What type of dogs do you plan to introduce there are many different types of dogs these days most of them are show breads but in the 1400’s they all had a different purpose/speciality will we see this as well?
Third. What is the dog at the Warhorse Studio’s called who’s dog is it and will he/she be in the game?

To everyone else what would you like to see in the game for your four legged friend?

Personally I loved the Warhorse dog, It’s a dog that would be used in the 1400’s as a attacking/hunting dog I am sure, he/she is cute as well so if I had a choice I’d probably go with it.

I just know I am looking forward to a hunting companion. Getting to choose between different kinds of dogs would just be a bonus.

I just hope I can get my hands on a 200 pound mastiff with spiked armor

Haha, and then hope he never turns on you.

Oh this is a good point our companions might be able to wear a light armour of sorts if it is suitable for the time?

I have no idea if it’s suitable for the time period but just look at it.

Hmm…

And to think today we dress them up in antlers and red noses!

I would also like some additional information about the dogs, mostly in a gameplay point of view. In a single player game to introduce a companion who will never leave your side and fight with you could be balance-breaking.

This question was answered here… well, there is no answer wether the dog will be in the game or not :frowning:

This could be used for seasonal themed gratuitous DLCs.
In this case when Christmas time’s around. :dog:

I am afraid that the dog feature will either be unfinished or buggy or their development will take too much time that could be used for example for combat system. I know nothing is finished, and I have no Idea how will combat system look like, but everything can be always even better, so if ishould choose between dog or for example polearms, I would choose polearms, because their are natural part of the game. And Warhorse claimed something like they dobt have enough time to develop them, so they are most likely planed for the next Acts. Why then lost time with some bonus feature?

But still if the dogs will be included, i am kind of looking forward to it.

I’m pretty sure they will concentrate on what they will need to to get this game finished. A companion as well as weapons will be fantastic I expect them to get it all complete and not expect them to be falling short anywhere else because of it. A little faith never hurts.

@nekrodamus Thanks for the link now we know the dogs name to be Jenda (John). Now all we need is info from Warhorse if they plan to use Jenda as one of the companion models and as Dushin has indicated a little info on if the companion itself will be as customisable as the character is for armour.

Oh and any pic’s of Jenda that Warhorse can supply would be great
