Or will you need a video for that?

Everyone has helped you on this thread, but yeah. I guess there’s no pleasing some people.

i didnt need help its a discussion about weather KCD needs a more in depth Alchemy tutorial. thats why its topic headline is ā€œNeeds An Alchemy Tutorial Like The Combat One!ā€

XBox One:

I have writen the recipes down in a notebook in shorthand, so I don’t have to read the book every time and then try to remember what’s needed.
I have a very short memory for these.
I.e.:
Spirits, Sage (1), Thistle (2)
Add Sage B2 (boil 2 turns)
Grind Thistle
Let cool (once boiling bubbles stop, ok to add)
Add Thistle
Distl (distill)
This is not an actual recipe! I don’t think.

Start by pouring Spirits into cauldron
Then the rest.
I find when I am gettting the portion to boil, I,pull pretty quickly 4 times, then turn the timer.
Usually, once it begins to boil, you only need to pull one time between timer turns.

You might also watch some YouTube videos on the process.
It can be tricky, but worth the time to learn.
Then after you get some alchemy perks, you can autobrew, which I prefer not to do.
Sorry if this is not what you wanted, but like I wrote…go to YouTube.

Alchemy can/could be intimidating for some. A tutorial would’ve been nice. Not in a dick way but ā€˜Henry follow me and let me show you how to create this potion.’ You watch as he/she explains. Then, now Henry you give it a try.

Same could be said for grindstone. Not hard. But one demo and a test would’ve been a nice touch.

Now back to alchemy
1 turn = 2 bellow pulls (let fire die down before pulling 2nd time; I never use the sandglass and never fail recipe)
To distill, click phial on distiller (not distiller on cauldron)
If you have a smart phone, take a pic of the recipe and read while you go along

4 pills for one turn always works, 2 turns:6-8 pulls 3 turns 7 or eight.
If it say grind one herb and add another can use the dish to combine set aside and boils the other part of the recipe.

Never had such problem. Some things are trial and error and this is ok and how it should be. Discovering things is an important part of the game too. You can’t just make tutorials for everything and left people to perform only mechanical actions that any mentally disabled kid could do. Text written in the recipe and in the Help menu is more than enough. Try to actually figure out something once in your life

I’ll be honest I’ve never been able to do it I hate it with a passion it’s badly explained and I’ll just buy what I need instead

Just like following a cake box recipe. Unless you never learned to cook and bake. My mother made sure I was fully house broken (LOL)

I can cook fine but it’s just this part of the game I don’t enjoy so I think it’s more me then the game that I just can’t be bothered with it

I got good enough to make 3 at a time with just a click with a perk, I did take a lot of brewing. I’ll give ya that.
If on PC there is an instant make mod tho prolly really out of date.

I actually enjoyed learning the potions and being able to do them off by heart. Gave the game more addictive things to come back to.

Why use cheat mods if you can just make potions using console

point taken. I just like to ā€œroll my ownā€

Intrinsically? Or is there something that could be done to make it more enjoyable?

I used the monastery life as time to brew a shit ton of KCD Red Bull (Cockerel)

To me, auto-brew comes too late.

It’s just extremely long winded and controls for it on ps4 seemed to have been mapped out by a 12 year old on meth it’s just no sense
