I experienced it in Rattay, the weapon smith and the trader next to the pillory, but game crashes when i ask the tailor in the rathaus to repair my garments. As soon as i try to drop something into the basket it unexpectedly quits the game. I haven’t tried other merchants, but i’m quite sure this would happen with all of them.
As mentioned above by Synystr, the issue is a localization problem. Mods such as perkaholic, edit the xml.pak files. Deleting it, then verifying the cache with steam should fix the issue. I completely removed it, though the nexus page, has a fix at the moment.
I have absolutely no mods installed, I didn’t even know mods existed for this game 
I only have the basic game and the patch 1.31. And this issue has been around since the latest patch…

Edit: problem solved. Just delete all mods
I don’t use any mods and I’ve found that game crashes quite often in 1.3 where as I never had a single crash in the 3 weeks before that. I haven’t been able to play for more than 1 hour at a time without the game crashing randomly.
Same here. Vanilla game, and trading has two issues for me: although sometimes everything goes fine, other times the keyboard is unusable during trading - I can still use my mouse to click on things to put things into the basket. I was once able to close a deal this way, but the second time I tried, the game crashed as soon as I chose to haggle. No message, nothing, and I was back in Windows with Steam happily syncing my save files. 2 hours of progress lost.
Hey! I found a way to fix it. You need to rename all the files in your game directory with the ending *.cdx_newfile or something. Just delite the original files and the last part of the name. Just be sure to check everything.
I reinstalled the patch 1.3 and it seemingly solved the issue.

Hey, I can’t find any file like that in my directory, do you know where inside the folder it is?
It seems like we had a different source of problem. Mine was in bad patcher, which could not replace any file during the patching, and just created a copy with *.cdx_newfile addition to the name. They were all over the game directory.

After a quick jump or attack during it ,a black screen appears but the event is already happening, followed by a subload of about 30 seconds .At this point you have already beaten ,and if you’re on a horse breaking saddle.Appeared after installing the latest patch 1.3.1
P. S.- Will you add to the game Russian voiceovers?
Same problem here. No mods. Removed all from user.cfg and removed heapsize from launch. Problem is still here.

Got same issue and haven’t installed any mods at all. Seems to be since updated to version 1.3 or 1.3.1.
Hi there could you be more specific as to what you did, I see files like “ipl_english.pak.cdx_diff” in the localisation folder, what exactly did you do, delete the original and rename the diff one to original name? I tried that but lost all text in game, thanks in advance
