like everyone else i have crash when i go in to Straw house in “Pestilence” quest. I found out that it is caused by NPC Straw, becouse when I try to kill him or knock him game crash.
I have save just before going in to hes house and after talking with anybody else in vilage and before going to Monastery. Should i play on this save or on save before i start quest “Pestilence” or before i travel 1st time to Merhojed in quest “Questions and Answers” ?
I have the same issue, as do most PC players it seems. I don’t think anyone has found a work around yet. Looks like we just have to wait for a patch.
I know that i need to wait for patch. I just wonder if i can play on save where i start this quest? or maybe even before start of Questions and Answers ?
You can do all the side quests you want, but so far, I haven’t seen that anyone can get further than talking to the bandit on that quest.
I have tried rolling back to pre 1.4 saves, and even starting over on a new playline. I haven’t been able to get that quest to finish yet, no matter what i do. You can just not talk to Straw, only talk to the other sick people, and then go to the monastery, but then it will just hang up or CTD once you talk to the bandit.
Loading an old save won’t fix that, I played the Pribyslawitz part again with a 1.3-Savegame, Crash is still there.
You can work around that crash by simply not talking to Straw, but when you speak to the bandit after making the cure the game will crash again. You can work around that by killing him, but some people reported that the game crashes again when the message that one should check if the cure worked appears.
So at the moment, the main quest seems to be completely broken at this point, and we have to wait for a patch.
I was able to continue main quest by not triggering pestilence quest.
What worked for me so far
Summary
Right after starting “Questions and answers” I went directly to kill the prisoner, steal the letter and report to Sir Radzig without talking to anyone else.
At least I could continue main story
