Ps4 pro, patch 1.3 ruined the game

Seems like they made assumptions they shouldn’t have. QA? Just stand with sun to Henry’s back and look at the silhouette, the head floats above the body (no neck).

Flaws and bugginess aside, there’s nothing game breaking about KCD. If I had the PS4 pro instead or reg PS4, might feel differently

The texture problem should be resolved when you play 15 minutes. I had the problem too but only for some minutes.

Right there with ya on the Xbox (XB1X) side of the matter. Only difference is that I want v1.1 back… We just got v1.2 last night and it’s unfortunately a downgrade. I hate to be this critical because I truly do love this game and what it’s all about but the immersion is being totally ruined by horrible pop-in and terrible clipping.

Which is a very valid argument but on console it wasnt a difference between alpha and full release, it was within one patch lol.

I’m on Xbox One X and I can tell you there is a lot of exaggeration, take it with a grain of salt.
In my opinion the game looks gorgeous, and Digital Foundry did comparison of all 3 platforms and it looks almost identical everywhere.

Of course PC comes on top, it’s clearly not the same budget.
But Xbox One X runs at 1440p and looks really good.

I’m not standing there staring at grass when playing the game, so it’s not an issue for me if there is a bit less grass or a bit less anisotropic filtering.

I think the wrong idea is coming into play here, the reason it appears downgraded is texture loading. When the textures are there i see zero difference. However they just arent loading a good 40 percent of the time. I played on day 1 and never had this issue, patches are supposed to fix thing’s not break them.

So when galloping up to a village, it doesn’t bother you that buildings are popping-in 50 yards out? Please stop accusing everyone of exaggerating their own experiences with the game. Everyone has their own level of expectations for a (this) game. I LOVE this game but the level of the clearly designed immersion is being broken right now because of the terrible pop-in and environmental clipping. To be clear, I will NOT be asking for a refund and I’d pay $60 again knowing what I already know of KCD. I just want/expect it to get better. Simple.

On reg PS4, Sasau and Rattay walls have a rendering delay for me. Doesn’t happen every time but it does happen. It takes a couple seconds. It’s not good just as having hats/head gear render a sec or 2 after NPC isn’t good. If WH doesn’t want to be known for glitchy graphics, they need to address

Having had the system freeze on me when running into high poly sections of FO4, I was actually surprised about rendering whilst on horseback. Needs more polish but still pleased

There is a popping issue, we know that since 1.1. It’s nothing new.
And no, it doesn’t bother me more than that, because the game is not defined by this graphical glitch alone…

Surely it can be better, and surely it will be better.

There is a lot of exaggeration, I’m seeing everyone jumping the gun calling developers out and saying the game is ugly … that is clearly not true.

So … please calm down people, if it bothers you that much to have popping textures, then I would advise you to put the game down and wait for it to be fixed down the road.

No one deserves this level of harassment for a video game … They are working hard right now to resolve it, keep it in mind.

Exactly the point i was trying to get across. If i hated this game i Wouldn’t waste my time posting, i really was enjoying it until this patch. I would be way less irritated if they acknowledged it as a known issue but they don’t.

WH doesn’t deserve harassment but they do deserve criticism for not better verifying/addressing pop ins/high poly rendering on console esp XBoxOne PS4 pro

They are aware of the problems, they are reading this forum actively and weeding out the bugs.
This is what developers do.

But right now they already have a lot on their plate, they don’t have time to post on the forum.

I can imagine it must be really painful for them to read the forum right now because so many people are insulting them and their work.

Criticism is good, but there are limits … look at the caliber of this game.

I’ve seen people asking for refunds because they thought there was less grass since 1.2 … LOL
I mean … really? How can people be so childish?

Harrassment? Please do not start unnecessary drama. We have every right in the world to question the game’s performance issues, lacklustre texture streaming and expose them. We kickstarted this project and waited patiently for 4 years so I think we have the right to criticize the game fully for its shortcomings.

I myself will tell you the game is one of THE best RPGS which makes casuals run away in fear. I am against handholding and noob catering in games so KCD is a welcome breath of fresh air for people who like real R P G S. But the performance for the visuals it offers is just not good, period and I will criticize the performance and non -gameply related oddities over and over again until the developers take notice and start fixing them!

That is how you get developers to fix games. that is why Ubisoft now releases higher quality ports than they ever have, due to repeated criticism from PC gamers of their shoddy ports with performance issues.

I do plan on chuggin’ through this playthrough during it’s current state but I can’t wait for later, more optimized playthrough’s of this game

No, sorry, you’re not entitled to anything, and that is something you need to understand.

Everyone is grateful that backers have backed up this project, otherwise we wouldn’t have this great game.
But that doesn’t give you the right to request anything, you can suggest and report bugs … respectfully, period.

I’m tired of seeing self entitled gamers think they can say/do everything they want just because they bought a game, that’s not how the world works.

I think it’s important to take a step back and question your motives, we’re talking about a video game after all, “period”.

Admittedly less grass is pretty extreme, however character models with un-rendered clothing, town’s with building’s popping in and cow’s appearing within 50 feet aren’t in my opinion. Lock picking, Archery, Bug’s, Combat Difficulty i have all seen complained about, Im fine with those i just want patch 1.2, i shouldnt hesitate to patch my game’s, that seem’s ridiculous to me.

Yes, there are rendering issues, hopefully it gets patched sooner than later.
But I’m still greatly enjoying the game right now, doesn’t bother me that much.

I closed the thread because it is highly missleading. Patch 1.3 is not out yet, for no platform.

You are talking about patch 1.2, which can have different version numbers for different platform and different locations. I assume 1.0.3 or something like this for some playstation regions. This is not Patch 1.3, it is patch 1.2
Patch 1.2.5 is in certification right now, and 1.3 still in production. Nobody can have problems with patch 1.3 yet, because it is not out yet.

Existing patches are 1.1 and 1.2
For computer we released 1.2.5 already in two versions. One 2 days ago, which was causing a new bug, and a repared version of the patch yesterday which was fixing the new bug again.
The fixed version of 1.2.5 is now in the process of certification for consoles.
