I have the same issue as well, the shop door is locked all the time.
Maybe we need to hire a new armorer, I hear the son of one of the Sasau blacksmiths is looking for a shop . . . . Rofl
Same here except that bugger taunt me with his shit squat posture.
I’ve tried a couple of method getting him out of bed, the surest way is to just kill him and wait 10 days, but you gonna need to grind his reps again since he hated you for killing him

It´s the same for me, I tried to knock him out but it dosn´t helped.
Maybe pickpocket him until he wakes up and runs to the guards. Maybe this will reset him.
Yeah I’ve tried pickpocketing him but he’s just too lazy to get out of his room.
I’ve found a way to get him back to work without any repercussions though.
- Wait for night time
- Knock him out
- Drag his body to infront of his shop
- Wait for opening time around noon (I waited inside the church area)
- He’ll be tending his shop from now on
This is a funny bug tbh, it is like i’m forcing a guy who I always sold my loot to go to work

Have you tried waiting for an hour - for me in 1.3.4 it seemed to reload the environment with the armour door open and ready for business. It’s like it wasn’t triggering in real-time. This may be a more prevalent problem in 1.4.1 though.

There’s anothing though, after knocking him out, he talks like he’s too tired or I just woke him up from sleep.
I’ve tried waited, trust me, waited for 10 days, go to jail for 10 days, etc. This is the only workaround.

Same here. He’s been closed for an in-game week now. When I enter from the backdoor there’s only a guard walking around.

Knocking him out while he slept worked for me. I carried him to the front door of his shop (during the daytime). Of course I got caught. I spent ten days in jail and he hated me afterwards, but this “fixed” him for me. I was able to rebuild my relations with him by trade.
Since I did this, I’m sometimes stopped by Rattay guards within the town who want to search me. I do not know if this is a result of my adventure with the armorer or if it is just a coincidence…
And for sure this is related to the 1.4.1 patch. I tried reloading an old save, and the dude is still sleeping… will try @Amans solution, hope it works…
EDIT: got it… Amans solution works. If anyone’s on PC, and want to use console cheats (search for the mod in nexusmods), here’s what you can do, so it doesn’t affect your reputation with the armoursmith, or with the rattay guards, townspeople, whatever…
- wait for nighttime and stand right outside the armour shop (preferably with a low noise, low conspicuous set of clothes/armor)
- use the following console command:
cheat_teleport_npc_to_player token: armoursmith
then go as Amans suggested: knock him out, carry the body to the front of the door to the shop, run to the church, and wait till 10 A.M.
hopefully, he stops with the all day sleeping habit in the future

Having the same issue
as a follow-up, took a video of what he does in my game. He’s up there with the baliff. Sometimes the armorer roams around in his pajamas while the baliff sleeps and sometimes the baliff is up while the armorer sleeps. The armor appears incapable of leaving the bedroom. Most of the time he tries to change into his day clothes, then quickly reverts to pajamas and goes back to sleep, as you see. Seeing the corpse made him curious enough to not go back to sleep, but he still did not leave that room.
He is an indie armourer, just be patient and wait until he feels like working, ok?

I’ve heard that the money from selling all the Henry’s hauled armor spoiled him and he started doing drugs not long ago. Sad to hear that it went so bad so fast
