this game has a real learning curve, not the type people just half ass about, but a real one. the key to savior schnapps is to do some small simple tasks around rattay to save up coin, and then buy them up from inn keep and other npcs you encounter, and use it only when absolutely necessary. i have 20+ bottles i don’t even use much nowadays. there are also tons of other options for saving. i thought it was an issue initially too, but it’s really part of the game design and it works once you put some though into it and have some experience.
…and heaven forbid if your game CTD during the 10+ mins you’re doing those “small simple tasks”. Or CTD just when you’ve “saved up enough coin” buy the schnapps to save your game progress. Or CTD in the ridiculously UNREALISTIC several minutes it takes for you trying to brew that single Savior Schnapp (that you’ve been waiting on in the last 15+ mins to save the damned game). All that hard work (and time wasted in real life)…for absolutely nothing 
Thank god for the unlimited saves mod on the PC. Exiting the game is but a realistic 2 second keystroke & single mouse click away.
How is taking several minutes to brew a potion unrealistic? I get it may annoy some people but to be realistic it should be much longer than that. No way a cauldron this big with a fire this small can heat up in seconds to boil a liquid. It defies thermodynamics! 
Master alchemy where you can auto brew 3 potions at once.
I have over 700 Saviour Schnapps.
Or just master alchemy. Then you can make 3 Saviour Schnapps a time in only 2 seconds.
And you can just keep making Lazarus Potions and selling them to the bow and arrow merchant in Ratttay. I have amassed well over 70k Grochen through selling potions!
If you really need to save your game just sleep for 1 hour at the nearest camp site.
Just curious… how was the sleep/save mechanic “caused” by consoles?
Imo you cheat, and then you lose a lot from not having to think thru your actions during the game (i.e. I’m going to do this important thing where I might f*up… better take some potions with me).
At most I hope warhorse only enables these changes as cheat codes for people who think it’s too hard to handle… it’s been ages since a triple A game had gameplay which respected the player without all the handholding. I hope WH doesn’t cave to the pressure and regress…
consoles have limited amount of memory & HD hardware resources. After installing several typical 40GB-50GB games, HD space becomes an increasingly precious commodity. So the number of saves on a console needs to be limited to a manageable number. Unlike the PC which has flexibility of external as well as internal HD. One way to optimize limiting the number of saves, is to restrict it to performing certain actions in game play. Like a bed object. Or minimize the need for sleep by drinking a consumable like an alcoholic beverage.
on PC, I have no issue with the savoir schnaps. In the beginning I had but I am at walk through 3 now so I understand how it works and they do just fine. This btw I had already noticed in my second walk through
Why? I always have 3 with me and barely save, the sleeping in beds/bathhouses is more than enough. The saviour schnapps is only used when I like to stop playing and don’t have a convenient save. It takes less than 2 minutes to brew 3 potions yourself?
Just because people can’t save/or can’t be bothered to actually understand how the save system works, it doesn’t mean it’s broken. Also people tend to abuse saves and not live with the consequences of their actions in games.
True. I have no problem with the schnapps either. Makes the game more challenging & RPG-ish since it puts us into immersion. Unli-save = no suspense. STOP ASKING DEVS TO DUMB DOWN THE GAME.
ALTHOUGH, I do acknowledge that this method of saving BACKFIRES HORRIBLY on a buggy game. DEVs should have made sure it was bugless (at least for the Main Quests) before implementing a harsh save method.

Agreed, there was a moment I had to reload a four hour old save, since all the rest were corrupted, but still I love the saving system. People just wanna quicksave before they commit a crime so that if they’re caught they can re-load or before engaging in a challenging fight. I honestly don’t understand how can people not complain about Dark Souls save system but whine here.

Savior schnapps isn’t even hard to come by. I store 10-12 Savior schnapps in my inter-dimensional horse storage; enough for me to save mindlessly if i want to.
Another post about whiny ass bitches not being able to spam the save. Have u even played this game cuz if your wanting a change to the save system it really feels u haven’t. Schapps are easy to make. Make them. Don’t give me that excuse I have to leave at a moment’s notice. I do do at times and I ain’t bitching. I save my game before I leave cuz I make sure I’m prepared to do so.
that’s like saying that time passing is casual and was made for ‘whiny ass bitches’. if you are truly hardcore you should wait through 2-hour prayers in the monastery, because that’s a real test of commitment and skill.

well many reviewers scored the game down for its saving system, so yes a lot of people think that it’s broken. conversely, if they had traditional saving from the beginning, i doubt there would be anyone demanding it to be restricted.
And many reviews also claim the Creator and the game is racist and anti gay because it doesn’t have either. Those reviewers are idiots. Personally who gives a fuck about paid reviewers. Or there oppinions. Beavis and butthead was given two thumbs down and look at how well they did. Not the mention the million plus copies of this game sold. The minority that thinks this game is broken or needs changes are halfwits and there oppinions don’t matter cuz there’s nothing wrong with this game asside from a few bugs not game breaking and no changes need to be made to saving or lock picking. If u can’t deal with either go play Skyrim. Or simply go wank your rumpleskin and preach to someone who gives a shit.

Thats quite the convoluted theory… I play on ps4 and no game has ever come close to filling my HD and save files are puny (for any game) in comparison.
Edit: btw… saving is extremely easy you just need to plan ahead (i.e have potions with you)
