So are we just to quit the game?

Is War Horse your Mama? The people complaining about this game is because they’re having game breaking bugs. I even told you a example and you throw it in my face. Dude does your bottom hurt??? Just grow up. I love this game ;But it STILL needs some work. Rick the PR guy from War House would even tell you if you have heard him on a podcast. He said he welcomes the criticism. They’re are okay with it; Why aren’t you? If you don’t let people tell there experience with the game then There’ll be a lot of people that will never experience the game and love it like you do.

I get your point. I really do. But half of us wouldn’t even be on this website if we could play the freaking game. We are more than a little salty about it. I am glad you had a good time on this game but a lot of us haven’t.

That incourteous remark and yet you have the temerity to tell me to grow up.
Read what I actually posted. Read the post I provided link to: actionable quality goals/expectations and take what I say and have said into context
Answer the question… if the the game is broken how can I continue to play at now over 300h with same playthrough?
Presumably, Erik not in Vranik at ~250h rises to your level of gamebreaking. Not mine. Game is still playable; +50h with same playthrough since. (Jan said WH working on fix to be in 1.4) Hence, gamebreaking being subjective.

Similarly, when visiting greater Cambridge (location of multiple main quests) caused crashes or freezes, those by themselves didn’t gamebreak Fallout 4. Made it a pain just as Erik not being in Vranik is but not gamebreaking

The problem is that we paid 60 dallors for a game we should have been able to play a month ago. 1.3.1 patch was said to fix performance but it made it worse for half of us. What kind of problems will we have with this next patch? You really don’t know; neither do I. It is hard to trust when you have aready been burned. Do I hope this will fix it? I think everyone does. But we just don’t know.

Read my comments elsewhere … I’m pretty :face_with_symbols_over_mouth::face_with_symbols_over_mouth::face_with_symbols_over_mouth: clear that WH needs to improve its change mgmt

This software doesn’t support a supply chain, accounting system or medical device so critical fixes don’t mean the same to the WH. I dare say WH has lost some customers (perhaps permanently) because of their seemingly slow and flawed change mgmt. I hope Daniel isn’t managing it. Not because he can’t but because it means other stuff isn’t getting done.

Right now on the Xbox one X the game is broken. It isn’t for you so that is good to hear. We on the Xbox one have to wait at least 2 weeks before we can see if this patch can fix our games. We just want to get back to stabbing people in the face and getting hungry again. “I feel quite hungry”

Vanilla PS4 is ok. Graphics (pop-ins, etc) seemed better right after 1.3. Now, seems in some ways still better; in other ways, not. Never had whole (Rattay upper castle, N side) bridge not even appear while I rode across until yesterday. After 3-5secs (seemed like an eternity), it rendered. Didnt happen but once. If on VR, certain muscles would’ve contracted

Sad WH can’t/doesn’t triage XB1 and PS4 pro better. Ironically pro users seem to have more problems than vanilla

Vanilla xbox run okey till you got about 20 hours in then it would crash in the menu and fast travel. I was still able to complete the game but it was a challenge. 1.3 was good till you started opening up the map. Then you got lag so bad it is like watching a slide show. This is a great game though. I really hope they can get this fixed.

My son is on the og xbox and he doesn’t have that many problems either. That’s a little wierd.

which of the following is a strength to be leveraged in making a glitch free game?

  • Start up company
  • Maiden product
  • Open world RPG
  • Cryengine
  • Novel combat system
  • Relatively small staff size (for some, first industry job)
  • Relatively small budget
    .

my personal opinion… really nice, enjoyable product in need of much fixing (bugs) and much enhancement (design issues; adding DLC/content). very respectable (but incomplete … as we stand now) effort all things considered. if WH can turn the corner on this, look for KCD to be considered a game changer or classic in the years ahead; if WH can’t, KCD will be novelty and niche

My apologies, I responded to the wrong person, I thought I was continuing with someone else who claimed they put in a thousands hours with not a single bug despite admitting they didn’t even finish the combat tutorial where a game breaking bug takes place.

This game has bugs, and some of them break the game and ruin the experience. This isn’t the opinion of the odd player, it’s the opinion of the majority of people which can be seen through Steam stats, the game has dropped in popularity DRASTICALLY since launch and the plethora of issues.

I just wish they would test there game better on all the platforms they release it on. I would have been okay with this game being a early access or something but they released it as a finished game.

Did WH and its partner(s) overhype KCD? were customers blind to reality (list above)? Or somewhere in between? Not sure. In some respects, it doesn’t matter. WH needs to take a long term view (gotta pay their own bills going forward) and recent Steam numbers may or may not be important in that regard.

@diarbkiller with Bethesda and FO4, never felt like forums really mattered other than to find and float workarounds. From the grousing here to a tweet from Daniel seems much quicker than from FO4 complaining to a tweet from Bethesda’s PR guy (Pete Hines) (exception being online petitions to get console/PS4 mods). Maybe I’m biased or too optimistic. Time will tell

Don’t waste your time here, this place is filled with fanboys/people who invested in the kick-starter project, they are too emotionally invested and naturally some of them usually just berate you even if they aren’t being sycophants, and the developers seem to have abandoned this place (or even Steam for that matter) in favour of twitter.

This may be valuable and it may not be I don’t want to say that it will solve the stuttering issue but I getting desperate decided to look at my Xbox as far as Graphics settings in the settings menu and for some f****** reason it was set to 26 FPS.
I moved it back to 30 I left the display normal but I did notice if you put in PC RGB setting the game is definitely playable at a decent speed with no lag ever things up close are very high def however things far away look like cartoons either way I’ll leave that choice up to your situation but I’m just saying it would be worthwhile for anybody on their consoles to Tinker and see what their settings are on because since I’ve sent mine to 30fps I’ve had no stuttering and if I run into a town while it’s loading up it doesn’t affect my Mobility whereas before while the town of was loading up it really affect my ability to play or move around or do anything because of the stuttering

If it’s not then why are you here then!? For a lot of people it is, because they are plenty of forums about it. You don’t even need to be here then… Jesus…This is to state the bugs so the devs can fix them. I said it is bugged because MY game is. Doesn’t matter if I said THE game is. I only have my experience of the game to tell, not talking about everyone else. Stop boasting about how perfect the game is running for you. I didn’t make this thread for that.

True. This thread is specific.
It isnt off topic to provide a bit of balance to some ludicrous claims.

*Generally stuff like:
" the game is an intentional cashgrab " (no, super small market for realistic/cumbersome rpg)(cumbersome being weapons have weight and stats govern abilities more than controller prowess)

" the game is fully broken. I cant do a specific weapon swing " (no the game needs a patch to correct an identified issue)

“Each update breaks more than it fixes” (this is subjective and I would say is misleading).

Whilst I could argue that last point- each update has generally made my game worse (specifc points), it is because I had zero issue over the first few patches.

In perspective- the game has been out, what- six weeks-,… it is entertainment.
We all have differing ideas what constitutes value; I never pay full price and wait for months for my games- yet I bought this one asap. Very happy for that fact.

Any issues- if righted- then we mostly agree ; little harm/little foul. (Thisnisnt a perfect situation).

For the occaision I have somebody stuck in my table (after weeks of play) I can count ten-twenty sessions that play perfectly. Maybe a distant bush pops up late on my screen.

Lets identify what we are talking about.
Lots of people on these forums put words in each others mouths and then argue against their own diatribes. Fairly well actually.

This webforum is a misrepresentation of gamers enjoyment with the title.
We do little to help curious visitors with long drawn out rambling threads that go off topic.
Doesnt help WH identify issues either.
So responsibility and respect with our posts.

Open world game forza horizon was so broken the forum moderators simply removed 10000 threads/posts for the pc version of the game. And would remove ppsts identifying issues and ban accounts happily for anyone speaking up.
(WH are pretty kindly/patient with us in comparison).

Open world game Skyrim had a day one bug that the game couldnt even start for many users (pc) (it happens irrespective of size of stuio or development time).
Sure I had booked that day off work in the job interview months prior… was pretty dissapointed to waste my freetime.
In perspective… my freetime/paid for entertainment- was sorted by like thinking individuals speaking well in forums…(thankyou)

This game has issues. Sure. But they are being dealt with rapidly. WH is doing everything that can be done to get things back on track.
We can aid them in this goal with respectful talk and no silly quotes speculating how they have our money and are running to the bank. Their actions are showing quite literally the opposite.

I am here to help and supply devs with feedback.
If i find something i research it on the forum and evrything is already talked about.
If someone hets stuck i try to help.
You created a thread asking if you should quit the game. This is no constructive feedback.
Just quit if you cant play the game.
But dont tell me i can not be here because i dont agree with your raging statements.
Again i feel terrible for you not being able play and by questioning rage statements and threads i try to separate BS from actual unreported bugs.
How does your raging help the devs or are you so angry that you are not able to see reason anymore?

Ill let this go for the sake of the forum and hope mods close this thread.
If.you have a bug please state it on the right forum after researching formulated in normal adult tone and language this will get you a lot further in life and game

Cheers

You literally subjected yourself to 80 QA/QC man hours beta testing an unpolished AAA title.

SMH

Looks like WH Studios owes you a very green and fat check in backpay…

Yes.

If you overhype a game and give potential players the illusion of what’s promising to be an unparalleled, standout AAA title, then isn’t this to be expected?

Yes. It most definitely does. See above

Agreed. Except where Steam stats are concerend.

First impressions are everything in the gaming industry. Especially if it’s a new franchise AND first of said new franchise title being introduced to the market.

The more PC gamers lose enthusiasm for this game, the less likely KCD will ever be modded. And if PC gamers lack the enthusiasm to release mods for the PC, then modding will be exactly DOA for the significantly larger console gaming community. If WH continues alienating the PC player base, KCD will NEVER achieve its full potential for a long shelf life the way the TES & Fallout franchises have. Instead of exploiting player loyalty to the franchise, WH would have to roll the die on future releases. Depend on finicky industry/gamer feedback with each new release instead of fan base loyalty to the KCD title brand. So paying the bills just got that much harder for the future IMO…

Bethesda leads the gaming industry as being the only software dev to date which 1) proactively engages the modding commuity because 2) it understands that by doing so, it can better exploit and monetize the modding community of its 2 flagship franchises. Bethesda has been reaping the rewards of said proactivity to date.

WH Studios had the opportunity to watch how Bethesda accomplished this since 2011. So IMO, WH either didn’t

1)learn from the “how” in Bethesda’s proactive modding community engagement. How Bethesda exploited this to gross $450M the first week of a single player RPG release:

and how Bethesda used the longevity of this popular franchise title (thanks to the modding community) to grow another (less popular) single player RPG title (aka Fallout 4) and make $750M on launch day for said title. Basically obliterating the industry’s leading MMO title (aka CoD) upon launch:

and/or

2)didn’t care to follow Bethesda’s proactive modding lead, as mod kits appear to be a pure after thought on Varva’s software development list for the franchise .

And/or possibly

3)don’t care about growing KCD as a flexible, high quality sandbox RPG over the long term in the future.

Without mods, sandbox game play will be non existent and reduces the replay value of KCD. Which could imply #3 is the WH dev vision for future KCD titles i.e. low replay value due to limited MQ replays (depending on how many times players are willing to replay the MQ to experience all possible outcomes).

So if this truly the WH devs vision for KCD, then I wouldn’t be surprised if subsequent KCD titles end up being marketed the way Ubisoft releases increasingly inferior Assassin’s Creed titles every damned year (and will likely earn the achievement as the RPG version of Madden NFL series in the near future). KCD has the potential to devolve to exactly that industry substandard by default of its design. Turn into a cash grab to churn out increasing medieval realism RPGs which are loosely based on historic conflicts. Which would be easy to do, given Europe being littered with hundreds of historical wars, battles and conflicts on which you could base future medieval simulation RPGs. Undesirable, as this would significantly dilute the game play quality of the KCD franchise.
