I was always Kayleigh online but it was often already taken as a user name so I came up with an alternative spelling that is less often used… tacked on the 13 just to ensure a variant.
I had a joke account on LoL with a variation of Jesus, and some people say some really funny stuff. I’ve had so many strange experiences because of the name so I just stuck with it. One example while playing Rust, I had somebody run over and yell “Jesus bless me with your holy rock” I hit him on the head, he says thank you and then ran off…
It’s just too good not to
I always liked tigers and I wanted to come up with a name that was unique enough that it would not be taken everywhere I go, so I came up with the variation.
That’s hilarious! Maybe in Kingdom Come, people can ask you to bless them with your sword!
I had a short story in middle school about a dragon slayer named Garth. Basically mashed “Garth” and “dragon” together for my first online RPG game to come up with Dragarth. Unfortunately, I googled the name a couple years ago and the Neopets garbage apparently snatched it up in 2004 I believe and made it their own. It’s been my name for over 11 years…
My nick is actually a translation of my first name into Japanese. However Yuusou also means “post” (or postal service), so I had some funny occasion while playing Uncharted Waters Online (a sailing MMO based in the age of naval exploration) and steering a transport ship, someone started laughing and asked me if I knew what my name meant. I said that it’s my first name translated into Japanese and he said “I know this word as post. It’s so appropriate.” So this is how I got to know that one japanese word can have two very different meanings. Still I stick with my original intention of translating my first name.
Since Yuusou is a rather common name used in online communities, I had to add something. Usually I’d go with the last two digits of the year of my birthday, but sooner or I later I realized that I could make some pun out of it and so YuusouAmazing was created, as amazing is one of the overused terms of describing something beautiful or extraordinary. I was also about to use YuusouUsual but it looks a bit awkward.
Hajime mashite, Ragnar desu. Yoroshiku onegaishimasu.
Ragnar, after a character from the historical novel “The Last Kingdom” by Bernard Cornwell.
Concidentally a similar character, Ragnar Lothbrok, appears in the history series “Vikings”.
Then again, a lot of Norsemen where named Ragnar, after Ragnarök (for which I long).
It also contains many characters of my first and family name, and I like the sound of it.
I’m a big fan of the nine… I mean eight, aedra from The Elder Scrolls.
Ambrose is my last name. John is a name I chose from the muster rolls of the Hundred Years War. John Ambrose was one of a few of his name to go to war as a longbowman.
Nickname, what nickname? lol
Alright normally people tend to think I’m Hungarian. Some sort of translation for bird tamers if I remember correctly. I first stumbled upon it in one of my past favorite PS2 games. Disgaea Hour of Darkness. I’ve used it ever since. There is another name I go by, but that one is unfortunately used more often than I’d expect.
Im a geek… Curunir is the best name ever, taken from Silmarillion. I also use Aussat, another book name from the Thomas Covenant books by Stephen R. Donaldson. Its the name of a small troll and the name (Aussat Befylam) mean little freak or something, Im 198 so I found it rather fitting =)
Xaero comes from my days of playing Quake 3 Arena, and kept it all this years… in more recent years, felt that I, trough various acts of courage and bravery, deserved to be Knighted… so, Lord Xaero !
Well first Sir, for my love of medieval, and then Rod as in Röd as in Red in swedish. I’m a ginger warrior!
No real meaning here, heard the word a long time ago from a friend and used it ever since.
A long time ago in a tabletop RPG far far away my friends and I created nations of our own from the ruins of a once great empire that we had brought low. Most of the names were pretty much mockeries of other empires and mine was no different… I decided that since my name is Olli and this was MY empire I’d be ruled by an… Olligarchy.
