Well, since this isn’t really a Gameplay discussion but rather a Bug, you should probably submit a bug report and submit a dxdiag along with it.

Same problems here, can’t get out of the first room, can’t eat ether…
Have reinstalled the game etc, nothing works…
hey, you’re the first person i meet that has the same issue. I had an email from warhorse today! Finally after weeks of waiting and no response. They wanted my savegame. So i sent i to them. I’m curious what’s next. Warhorse is not very communicative or supportive to put it lightly 
Start making a lot of noise (Seriously) because I got locked in one of the Inns, and I did not have a option to unlock/open door, So I started swing my sword hitting and shooting the walls with arrows and a NPC unlocked it and asked my what I was doing.
Also, Wait or sleep if possible and mom or dad will come in the room
Yesterday 22-feb-2018 i was given the instruction by Warhorse to uninstall KCD beta and KCD release version because according to the logfiles the game was missing some files. Which is weird since steam integrity check missed it several times… Delete all the data in my user accounts folder and then reinstall the game. Then verify the game files. then start the game.
This SOLVED my issue. I Now see the animations! And more importantly can leave the house. Jeeee. Finally after a month after release date i can play the game.
So i must say that although Warhorse is very bad at communicating with its clients it has finally come through and solved my issue. Thanks!
