We have 20mph on housing streets , 30mph on like main roads within a town or city . Then 40/60mph outside towns depending on the type of road .
But we have a point system on our licence . Each time you get a speeding fine you pay £60 and then get 3 points on your license of which you are allowed 12 . If you get 12 you get a driving ban for a period of time .
But you can do a "speed awareness course " if your caught which is £90 but no points on your license . Only allowed to do that once every 3 years though

The cop had no right to stop the first guy. He obviously felt like he was a tough guy with his gun and badge. Its good to see you let cops detain you for no reason which is illegal here.
cannot detain you unless they have a reason here either . but if your speeding you’re committing an offence so they have the right to detain you in this situation . and at no point here would you be treated as a criminal for a traffic offence . all they do is sit you in the back of their car tell you to slow it down and as long as you’re polite send you on your way no hassle if your idea of expressing your rights is losing 30 minutes of your time arguing with the cop and walking away $100 out of pocket then i think id rather be detained for the 5 minutes and keep my money
