Funny, I just had a long debate on Czech FB page about “self defense weapons”.
A guy in his 40s was describing 3 DGUs he had in past 15 years (!!!) and how he got through them without facing any charges.
On one of those occasions he was facing an attacker in a pub with a knife, who was shouting he came there to stab the barman because he had testified against him at court. He waited for the guy to get within 2 metres before he shot him in the guts (gun drawn all the time and made him aware he will be shot if comes close).
Well I consider 2 meters pretty dangerous distance to allow an attacker with knife to get to you, notwithstanding whether it makes your case legally better or not. Some people insisted that I am a loudmouth and that the guy’s way is the best way to avoid jailtime.
Well maybe. But I carry primarily to avoid morgue, jail time if possible, but not the extent that might put me on the way to morgue.
