We took in tens of thousands from Balkans and from Chechnya and none of that happened. I don’t see a reason why we shouldn’t be able to help couple of tens of thousands now.
But what I am really missing in the debate in general is saying out loud that there are many war refugees, but some are more vulnerable than others.
I’d fully support moving here (CR) 40-60K homosexuals, atheists, jews and christian refugees, because these are the ones who are drawing the shortest stick in the whole deal. And give another 20K employment visas to Muslims who are wasting their talent in camps in Turkey, but who would need to first prove they have any.
IMHO the biggest problem are large benefits in countries like Germany and Sweden. They work as a magnet for these people and then cry they have too many and want to send them around. Also these countries give permanent asylum. We give only temporary and once the war is over, they either have to get Czech citizenship as any other foreigner (and it is no easy task) or fuck off, lest they are shipped off in handcuffs. That motivated our Balkan and Chechnyan refugees plenty much in 1990s.
Same with UK. Gives out high benefits and the only Czechs that went there really are either working in the city for huge wages or sitting on their hands and taking benefits (I am pointing to a particular group that you can probably recognize without me saying it out loud).
So, no. We don’t let gypsies run our towns (even the most dangerous ones like the one where I come from) so I am not afraid we would do the same kumba-ya policy like Germany or Sweden did with their muslim communities.
Here, they would be working their asses of to put bread on the table instead of thinking Sharia. And everyone has it hanging over their heads that they need to become law abiding citizens as fast as possible or they will have to go back eventually.
