Well for one, the death penalties, and harsh punishments like mutilation, only apply to Judaism. The idea behind the new Testament and Christianity is that Jesus died on the cross for peoples sins, and so punishments like that could be done away with. In their places is confession, at least in the Catholic church. Protestants believe simply being a Christian is enough to get you into Heaven.
Now i know you will counter with “look at what the Church did during the middle ages”. Well the church hardly followed the bible or Jesus’s teachings. That is why common folk were not allowed to own bibles, and why the copies were in English. The people would simply read through and find out the Church was taking advantage of them.
Lets take a look at the leaders of Islam and Christianity for a comparison. Jesus, who taught love, forgiveness, and peace. Then we have Mohammed, who taught violence, conquering, and pretty much rape. I understand there are many verses in the bible that are sexist and preach that women are second class citizens, but’s also remember the time periods in which it was written. There were very few places back then that weren’t sexist by today’s standards.
Lets take a look at some countries with high Islamic countries vs countries with a high Christian population. Take America vs pretty much any Middle eastern nation, the difference is black and white. Women are not oppressed, the religious laws do not run the country, unbelievers are not killed.
Now that last thing I’m going to add is my own experience to this. I have been to probably hundreds of churches in my life time. Catholic, protestant, you name it. I have never heard, any of the violent or sexist verses spoken by any of the priests, preachers, or ministers in any of those churches. I can guarantee you, that many Mosks do preach violence and sexism.
Looks similar to what happened in my state last year, national guard were rescuing a lot of people deep in the mountains via helicopters.

No i do not think i can pick or choose. I have explained to you several times now, that there is no death penalty in Christianity, the old testament punishments do not apply AT ALL to Christians. Period end of you are 100% wrong. That is the whole damn point of Christianity, that is why Christ died in the first place to do away with those punishments.
And i love how people say Christians cherry pick from the bible, the scriptures you pick do not under any circumstances tell Christians to kill other people.

Had you looked into it you would have realized that the man saying those words was not Jesus. The story speaks of a wicked king who returns from a far away, who’s subjects hated him, and the king admitted he was unethical and a hard man.
I understand you have an intense dislike for Christianity but lying about it just makes you look like an ass.

I also looked into those verses.
Luke 19:27 is trully spoken by the king and not Jesus.
Mathew 10:35-37 is disputable, the wole Mathew 10 is about spreading the word of Lord and about not fearing punishments of man for their religion.
There is nowhere said anything about killing. To me he speaks about difficulties of keeping faith which your family can be an obstacle to.

This got me thinking. In case @warhorse was interested in classes of Czech for foreigners, my GF is teaching these classes at University of Chemistry and Technology and she is also giving private classes.
