because NATO and Russia have always been very smart in their actions . aggressive enough to prove a point but not enough to cause a major war .

the whole point is to basically say " i could if i wanted " . no side would EVER fire a shot at eachother …that was until turkey broke that rule of an air incursion lasting . what was it 17 seconds ? then cry to NATO for help .

there was no need to fire at the russian jet . by all means scramble show your teeth but dont fire unless you absolutely have too .
turkey shot it down because the russians were bombing their terrorist friends , thats it .

russia has buzzed the US ship because its in their back yard and they dont like it . much like the US wouldnt like it if a russian destroyer entered the gulf of mexico . much like we dont like russian fleets in the english channel and when they come we escort them all the way .

im not sure the actions the crew took but id say . go full battle stations and enter an aggressive posture . lock onto the plane (dont fire) and an aggressive tone on the radio .

but of course if they call your bluff  not a lot you can do

I did not want to advocate Turkey, it just amazed me that people were so eager to advocate Russia.

well they were bombing people who felt it right to throw people off buildings , burn people to death , behead and slaughter thousands .

turkey buys their oil then shoots down a russian jet over a mistake which is so small its laughable . turkey has been difficult the entire conflict , that was just the cherry on the cake in a situation where minimal tension is required

Classic Piers Morgan.

“that is utter nonsense, you don’t actually believe that do you”? Then proceeds to offer no counter argument or evidence.

I completely agree with @TheDivineInfidel when it comes to the Turkey situation, you have a Russia jet doing mock missile attacks and buzzing a U.S ship multiple times, and yet the U.S ship did not fire on it. I’m quite confident in saying that destroyer could have easy handled the jet before it even got close enough to do that, but the U.S troops showed restraint, something Turkey clearly does not have.

That being said the Russian pilots were being pricks when it came to the U.S ship, they were simply doing that as a way of giving the U.S a middle finger, and it was a dangerous action for both sides.

True, but the U.S and the U.K have allies and commitments in the black sea, Russia doesn’t have either of those in the Gulf of Mexico, or the English channel.

Indeed . But that’s not how the Russians see it . They don’t want the US anywhere near the Black Sea/Baltic and this is there way of saying it .

It’s still a very reckless and dangerous thing to do. And there is a huge difference between escorting a ship and doing what the Russkies did in the Black Sea. They could have easily gotten their message across without risking their own pilots lives, and the lives of the ships crew.

Just admit it, their actions were dangerous and irresponsible.

So then you’ll agree with me that they made the right call? Because normally when you link these kinds of situations, you use it as an example of how the U.S military is incompetent.

Had they shot down the jet, who knows what could have happened. Russia could have sent out ships and more aircraft to either try and sink the ship or detain it.

So a 16 year old in Chicago, who owned a pistol (obviously illegal since you cannot own a pistol till you’re 21, and guns are banned in Chicago) decided to pull it on some cops, and was shot. Completely justified on the officers part, but of course they’re still rioting and screaming about racism.

“He dindu nuffin, he a good boy, he was out preaching bout Jesus Christ the day he wuz killed”

im not disputing it

of course , but that wouldnt be very putin would it

my point would be that . say they did it for real ? on a US carrier . when do you draw the line and shoot it down ? its an awkward situation .

the US should be kicking of massively over this but they are not . thats my point on US incompetents not a military response in the moment but in its diplomatic stance following the incident

From what ive seen from Putin words and threats don’t move him at all. So if the U.S decided to pitch a fit over this, i think it would simply make matters worse, because he knows we’re being led by a weak man.

Stumbled upon this yesterday. Fucking Russians

I just don’t get how any could prefer a glock over a 1911.

@TheDivineInfidel what pistol did you use in the military?

bitch please ive posted this before  only in russia though for fuck sake
