Nope some stayed behind and harassed Mexican lines they were militia. And do you know why some of the civilians were fleeing? Because Santa Anna imposed gun control so they couldn’t fight back.

No they were militias which means they do not answer to the military.

I wouldn’t say i had control of it. I pulled the trigger while my parents practically held the gun and me. I was never given a gun to hold on my own. The first time i shot by myself was around 7 and it was only a .22 which is pretty much a pellet rifle and it was under very very close supervision of adults.

Yes the reason for that was because they were british citizens and had mixed feelings about fighting against the crown. A russian invasion of America would be different story. There isn’t a large pro Russian population living in America so most people would have no qualms about fighting against them.
