Probably is, coming from the Washington post. Take anything you hear from American “News” with a grain of salt.
running the home office is seen as the worse job in politics it breaks alot of men because of the stress and the hate that can be directed against you . you’re responsible for basically running the nation at home .
Theresa may bossed the role . she is seen as one of the best home secretaries we have had in a very very long time . she is very cool headed and strong , she does not rush into decisions but once a decision is made she pursues it to the full so its a pretty easy choice to put her up for PM .
what would possibly give you that insight ?
what she is saying is anyone already here legally will be allowed to stay here legally with the correct documents . they’re not going to round up all EU migrants and say "okay only 100,000 are allowed to stay "
Right now, the only correct document they need is European Union passport.
So what will it be in March2019 (if they trigger Art 50 in March2017 as promised).
OK, the two of us probably measure success in office in a very different terms.
a working visa which im assuming they will offer them and its up to them if they want it or they can go .
this is due to EU rules however . and wider government policy for non-EU migrants .
A working visa is fine if you plan to make some money and leave.
Not so fine if you plan your future and know that you will have no way of knowing if they are prolonged after X years.
But that, of course, is a valid strategy, my country has had it for two decades.
This is to UK government not willing to implement nondiscriminatory policies that would apply across the board, not only to EU nationals. Lack of willingness to limit welfare because that would primarily impact UK citizens (and the sort of EU immigrants that cause trouble) and lack of willingness to promote better working standards because that would impact the businesses that rely on the cheap workforce.
Here you don’t get any welfare apart from €100 a month basic subsidy unless you worked for two years.
Here it doesn’t matter whether you are native or foreginer but the government makes sure that both are treated the same by the employers, so that the only thing foreigners have going for them is to work for less… but can’t do less than minimum wage anyway.
What exactly is that policy given that their numbers are so huge? Here the employer must prove that he can’t get a Czech to fill the job before the non-EU foreigner gets working visa - which are limited to that particular position.
I believe you have to have been here for 10 years on a working visa then you can apply for citizenship.
For me that’s how it should be . Come here and work and live and prove you’re a good meme we of society and then you can apply to have all the rights of being a full member of society
welfare is an issue here yes but its not whats causing the immigration issue 99.8% of immigrant come here to work and work hard to better their life . i have no issue with that , i have no personal issue with immigrants .
the issue is we have open borders with countries in eastern Europe that are very poor , the UK compared is very rich and offers a better life with much higher earning potential .
someone from Roumania , Bulgaria etc even from the czech republic . can come here work in a trade and earn £1000+ a week with a trade if the do the overtime which they all do .
they can come here and smash the hell out of work for two-four years and go back to their home country very rich men compared to the people they left behind .
let me put that into prospect for you . the average wage a month in the Czech republic according to http://www.tradingeconomics.com/czech-republic/wages is 27,297 CZK/Month that is £909.85 a month .
in london the average WEEKLY not the highest wage the AVERAGE is £659.90 which based on a 4 week month is £2,639.60 or 79,192.59 CZK/month
or in yearly terms the average wage in london is £48,023 or 1,440,773.45 CZK/year
do you still not see the issue ? if not consider now that you are one of the richer eastern European nations . the problem gets worse . why would they not want to travel here ?
**you’re likely to come back with how thats only london so lets get with the lowest of the low , minimum wage . lets scrub some toilets for 12 hours a day on £7.20 an hour shall we . thats £86.40 or for 8 hours £57.6 a day **
**so now we have **
5 days/12hours = £432- 4 week month is £1,728 or 51,843.00 CZK/month
5 days/8hours = £288 - 4 week month is £1,152 or 34,562.00 CZK/month
now consider most coming here are prepared to work 6 or 7 days and you begin to see the massive gap between what you can earn where you live and what you could earn where i live .
now also factor in we have a lot of young men that come here to work that often live 5 or so too a house . the rent is very low split between meaning they bank most of their income so have a good chunk of money to go home and get a nice house in their home country and live quite comfortably .
again nothing wrong with that in small numbers but when its on the scale it is on now , where young british kids cant keep up or get work we have an issue . an issue they can only be sorted through leaving the EU .
thats not the only solution but its one of the number thats needed . welfare is also part of that yes .
thats what the home secretary is proposing that companies must publish how much foreign labour they employ and why they could not use local british labour instead
Look, I undestand the economics of it all.
It may be a bit different from the Czech perspective because you get the worst cum that this country has to offer. Most of the time there is international search warrant issued the police comments that they believe the suspect has run to UK.
But in general I see that you get 1 non-EU immigrant for every 1 EU immigrant. You could slash the number in half any day, but the government hasn’t done so. The complaint against EU doesn’t really work in such situation.
I do believe that also effective enforcement of labor laws both as regards minimum wage as well as well as working conditions would make a huge dent into immigrant employment desirability.
Instead you planned for a long time this extreme political correctness/ineffective policing that allow things like this to happen:
I get all your points but I don’t agree with the “blame all on EU line”.
yes this is true however the EU immigration is from only 27 countries (in reality mainly from a handful ) and it is a majority low skilled labour . factory workers , cleaners and on the better end of the scale . construction trades .
where as coming from the outside of the EU it is generally well educated people . potential business owners , doctors , nurses , students etc .
we have to allow large numbers of these in to counter balance the mass of low skilled labour from europe . we need more doctors etc .
so if we get a grip on the EU immigration we can then reduce the non-eu immigration as well . The two come hand in hand .
we simply dont need the mass of unskilled labour we have millions of to put it kindly …unmotivated individuals who we can put to work in these jobs . mainly in the north .
as i say i see leaving the EU as a start to sorting the issue i dont see it has the silver bullet . i did not vote to leave based on immigration . financially mass immigration is great for me personally .
i voted to leave because i support the idea of small Democratic conservative governments . the EU does not meet my standards of democracy . nor is it small , its large and overbearing and likes its fingers dipped in everyones pies
Imagine if Trump was the one who stole earthquake relief money, it would be all over the news.
I would really want to see relevant data on that. I understand this may be the bulk of the number, but then let me ask - how the fuck do you fill up all your muslim ghettos then?
We have 300.000 gypsies of which between 50-80% don’t and won’t work. No matter what.
I don’t know much about your CHAVs but I wouldn’t expect them to go picking up fields and cleaning your toilets once the Romanians and Bulgarians are gone.
But hey, please do try. Once you find a way to get them working, please do send us the memo on that.
What is interesting is that your race is between extremely old people.
I would understand that in case of a system like ours, in which the president sits in the castle with no real power except greeting foreign delegations, but in a system where he is the head of the government, that is kind weird.
I don’t see what’s so odd about it. Most world leaders tend to have the majority of their life under their belt when they’re elected. Also i think they both just turned 70, is that really extremely old in your book?
I for one wouldn’t mind a mental competency test for both candidates to be the law, especially after Ronald Reagan had severer alzheimers most of his second term which is dangerous in my opinion. The left would never agree to to this though, because it would mean Hilary being kicked from the race.
Most of the Muslims here are not immigrants they’re British born . It’s the grand parents etc that we’re the ones that came over and formed communities and it’s grown from there .
I’ll reply to the rest later .
