If Russia turns aside our offers of friendship and cooperation, then fine, we did all we could to resolve things peacefully. But we should at least try donât you think?

If you look at demographic data you will see that education correlates directly with political alignment.
The more educated people are, the more left and liberal they are on average, while as lesser educated people are, the more right and authoriarian they are.
Education also correlates directly with wealth. And this is also one reason for a natural left-liberal media bias, which is existing. Who studies journalism? More leftists then right wingers.
