Well there is a lot of defensive gun use in the U.S as mentioned by @snejdarek. Also it’s not uncommon for poor families to rely on hunting for food. My mom pretty much grew up eating game constantly, so guns can mean the difference between going hungry or not.

No hunting, although it wouldn’t surprise me if my Grandfather ever did poach. But they mainly ate rabbit, which is legal to shoot without tags or a license because they’re considered pests.

A lot of families like to stock their freezer with deer or elk meat for the winter. Especially in rural areas.

We have a lot of “Schützenvereine” in germany, gun clubs (14,986 to be exact). They were mostly invented during napoleonic era to arm the people when there was no regular army in parts of germany and still exists till today.
Very strange people in my opinion. I mean, I like guns, but I would not enjoy to shoot together with this beer drinking people…

Your government doesn’t crack down on that? I have seen some idiots mix booze and shooting before. I went along Dove hunting with my Brothers and father when i was seven, i was just there to watch. We set up along this clump of trees, and every once and a while the doves would fly past, and my brothers would shoot.

Then these two rednecks set up about 200-300 feet away from us, and they were both drinking beer. Well the doves would occasionally fly above us or near us, and the stupid assholes would actually take shots when the doves flew near us.

The chance of bird shot harming you at that range is very slim, but still they were fucking morons for even pointing in someone else’s general direction, let alone firing.

They only shoot on shooting ranges, they are no hunters, but shooting clubs.
They are not very dangerous, just strange. I don´t know how many times there are accidents because of the mixture of alcohol and shooting, but they can´t carry the weapons outside of their clubs. Once a year, this clubs organize street fests (schützenfest), which is most likely looking like this:

They play their typical Humpta-Humpta music, drink beer, block the street and the best shooter will become “schützenkönig”. Every city have several of this clubs. They do have a kind of paramilitary structure, somehow.
With less military training, more beer and more german right wing ideology.

Not quite true. Firstly, in their minds Jews represented the largest environmental issue that humanity faced and the campaign aimed at solving that issue.

The second main aim of the campaign was also environmental - securing Lebensraum for Germans, who were overpopulating fast. Nazis actually had precise predictions as to in how many years Germany will face shortages of food if they continue fucking at the same rate (they didn’t expect the advancements in agriculture that came after WW2).
