No there are tons of workers here who have work visas, then generally send the money back and the Mexican government takes a large cut of it.

I got mixed up he didnāt say he was going to tax it, but simply cut it off until Mexico provided the money to pay for the wall (5-10 billion according to him) which is not very much when you consider that Mexico makes 25 billion per year of off remittances.

Everything ive been reading says that it would hurt them badly, their leadership has been viciously attacking Trump after he proposed it, so it makes sense.

Losing 25 billion would hurt however what he proposes is simply a threat he has no legal basis to carry out nor is he serious about carrying it out .
If someone is working legally and paying taxes legally in the US you cannot stop them from moving THEIR money .
The British government cannot stop me from taking money to France or even to the US . They can certainly question me if I was to have a large amount of cash but as long as I could prove that itās mine through legal means I cannot be stopped from taking it abroad .
Itās a fundamental principle of a free capitalist market .
A lot of that money sent back to Mexico is coming from illegals, he wants to pass a law that simply makes it to where if you want to send money back you have to prove you are here legally, iām almost positive that is well within his power.
He is certainly able to raise the prices of work visas as well.
