Horse riding with modern guns not interestnig than when u use sword or smth from polyarms!
If u want to use gun then please use the cars or robohorse!

The videos have said that there are going to be four layers of customization for the horses - so yes, barding will be a thing

yeah in one of the update videos they show a horse wearing armor so i think that feature will be in the game
