I just hope there is some awesome leather armor, for my bard character! Something noble looking. What’s the point of plate armor, when they can’t hit meXD
I doubt we’d see leather armor. The references to it are sparse and predate the time this game takes place by half a century at least.
I just meant heavy leather clothing, sort of like the starks in Game of thrones. I’m sure people wore something like that… Warmth and what not.
I believe you mean something like this?
That looks a lot like leather riveted to metal plates. A fantasy version though
The inspiration is probably drawn from the earlier Coat of Plates
(Wisby one here)
It’s probably quite heavy and most likely more constraining than later armor since a lot of the weight rests on the shoulders.
If you want something light i’d go with a gambeson, reinforced leather cap/small steel helmet together with a sword/buckler and lute. Oh and don’t forget to dress dandy and wear a chaperon
Notice the chaperon Roche is wearing
(loud sigh) (another louder sigh) I meant what they were wearing casually, that was rob in war mode. I guess heavy was the wrong word (oops). Essentially I dress for style over anything else, and their is no way in holy hell I’m wearing a chaperon. Or a god damn cap >:(
The Chaperon looks badass in my opinion.
Anyways his casual wear seems to be embroiled cloth
But I suppose you mean this outdoorsy type of leather thing.
It looks kinda like a glossy womens jacket. Not sure if folks in the medieval period ever wore much leather besides shoes, belts and pouches. I’ll try and find out.
That would be period accurate clothing for rich guys.
How can you not like the hatgear?

Pick your clothing.
You’re a glossy womens jacket. Anyway he wore that outfit once. For 15 minutes. (embroidered)
I don’t care if it’s leather, or made of leaves, just tell me that medieval people wore something that was both practical and stylish? PLEASE!!! Almost all of it looks ridiculous, or something close to a court jester (I can only imagine the real court jesters) (siiiiiiiigh) If there is one piece of realism I would sacrifice, it is definitely period clothing… All well, can’t have bricks without clay or something…
since there is a multi layer clothing system and many different clothes I think you’ll find something to put on your character. They are not going to design clothes to be stylish but to be as near to reality as it could be.
please stop this discussion and return to the topic
I started this topic, I can mess with it as I please! MWUHAHAHAHA! Just kidding. Maybe.
Anyway, I know they aren’t going to alter the clothing, this is why I like the team, not willing to sacrifice realism for superficial gain. To please you, I shall pose my new question: Do you think my amazing clothes will eventually degrade to the point that they will be unusable? And I wonder if I will have to wash them, or at least give them to a tailor to fix…
Clothes will get dirty/bloody so in order to make them clean again you probably have to wash them or buy/steal new ones. Maybe Henry can learn how to fix clothes that are disrupted so he doesnt have to go to a tailor.
I also wonder how it is inventorywise cause I’m sure I wont only have one set of clothes and if you have to drink/eat you have to carry all those things and weapons of course and potions/healing plants and on top of that differend kinds of clothes… dont know how that will work
I could imagine that armor breaks or clothes disrupt in such a way that you cant repair them anymore and they become useless and I think it will be good cause you wont be able to play the whole game with one set of clothes but have to find/buy new ones every once in a while
I agree, but what do you mean “Henry”?
its the name of the main character (the one you play)
You have a name… Words… Escape me… You have a god damn name? As if roleplaying wasn’t going to be hard enough with a preset history… Don’t tell me you can’t alter his face?
That may be a topic we should talk about in another thread
I think its not good to have a set name, too
cause I wanna come up with my own creative name in a rpg
and I’m not sure if you can alter the face of your character, but I would be happy if you can do so
Hey no need to get angry at me.
Man you type like your on stimulants.
But I have no idea what kind of clothing you like, give a few pointers like outdoors clothing or something.
Maybe you can find something you like here.
You haven’t pledged for the game yet so I wouldn’t worry to much.
I just looked about… It looks as though there will be no character customization at all… I feel as though my heart left me…
What the hell is that supposed to mean?
its still not too late to change warhorses mind about that we just have to discuss with the community about that
I’ll look if theres a thread already otherwise I’ll open one
