What do you want NOT to see in Kingdome Come: Deliverance?

Great combat
Many stories to follow
Many side quests, perhaps that intertwine with the main quest
A sprawling map that rewards a bit of exploration
The feeling of scale, especially as horse transport is an option - taking hours to get from one side of the map to the other isn’t an issue (for me).

No nudity, this is a game not a porno.
No overlyjugged™ women
Gargantuan camel toes need not apply

EDIT: Sorry, I replied saying that the filthiness was a myth like the other poster, but I didn’t notice his reply, such was my excitement to offer this link: http://listverse.com/2009/01/07/top-10-myths-about-the-middle-ages/

This is a hugely enjoyable article so I thought I’d edit rather than delete my post

No firearms, please!

Why? They where in use in this part of europe by 1403… during the Husseite wars they might verywell have made up something like 25% of the handheld ranged weapons.

DLCs… you can do like whatever you want but please please no DLCs

Seeing historical battle scenes like the battle of Grunwald, I hope that the developers will keep the game as historically as possible. There is not much I hate more than mistakes in historical events.

Just like they did in Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood in the Copernicus DLC, where they said he was Prussian

Although Im sure firearms were around at the time Im not sure how they would be implemented so my instinct would be to avoid them. But hey if they are implemented in a sensible way then sure I guess.

Wasn’t he born in Prussia? Doesn’t that make him Prussian?

well, I have tons of friends but how many gamer friends? errr… 0!

Still, I’ll be Jon’s friend mostly based on his name (a character from a great David Gemmell’s saga - RIP Dave)

he was Polish! he even led the defense of Allenstein (Olsztyn) castle during Poland - Teutonic Order war.

many of my Polish side of a family would go mad if they read that, Jon!

Sorry yeah I just wikipedia’d it. I guess the mistake comes from the fact he was born in the region of ‘Royal Prussia’ in Poland. Stoopid Ubisoft. Also thanks for recognising the name. Not many Shannow fans out there.

Thanks for explaining why.
I agree implementing the is not easy… since it is not something you would carry around loaded.

Making a weapon that was incredibly inaccurate, extremely slow to reload and likely to blow up in your face entertaining and balanced is probably too big of a challenge for game 1.

What I don’t want:

  • Overbearing Guidance
  • Incompetent Virtual Intelligence
  • Unrealistic Inventory
  • Non-degrading Equipment
  • Always Healthy Player Character

Born 19 February 1473
Toruń (Thorn), Royal Prussia, Kingdom of Poland
Royal Prussia was a province in the Polish kingdom. That doesn’t make him Prussian. What happened in AC was a German way of making themselves look better.

Yep already sorted it about 4 posts up from here.

Didn’t see that sorry :frowning:

I would not want to see a certain locations being blocked by the powerfull enemy (because your low level). I dont want to see overuse of the Shakesperean era language. Good balance is important (See game of thrones, thats a good example). I would hate to see companions as some vague presence, useless ally, or as a useless gimick. And I would hate to see the lack of FOV options since its first person game.

I don’t want to see myself wondering what I should do with 481204789170589 gold in my inventory and nothing to spend it on, now that I’m at max level.

I don’t want to see generic fetch quests (cough World of Warcraft cough), I don’t want to see combat that consists of mindlessly mashing triggers (cough Oblivion cough), I don’t want to see game bugs everywhere (cough New Vegas cough) and I don’t want to see a non-immersive environment, where everything looks the same.

  • Too many quests in dungeons/catacombs etc.
  • The hero carrying too much money
  • The hero able to carry tons of weapons and gear
  • Realistic costs for items (hope a warhorse won’t cost you only 100 credits while a meal costs you 10 credits etc.)
  • Sluggish weapons (medieval weapons were NOT sluggish at all mostly)
  • Horse that doesn’t get tired
  • People reacting too nice to the main character, even if he was the fucking messiah
  • Implementation of contemporary “hot” issues like racism, homosexuality and gender-equality etc. in quests/storyline - please stay with what would be medieval social issues
  • a cluttered HUD
  • Emphasis on Multiplayer
  • Emphasis on environmental item looting
  • NPCs who don’t have a job (Richard Garriot’s Ultima series was an awesome example of NPCs having all their daily work)
  • No female knights/soldiers etc. (sorry girls, we want to keep it realistic for these time period please)
  • Unrealistic crafting of weapons (how those two elves in the LOTR movie “reforged” Narsil was just beyond me. Please do your research)
    -No over the top gore
-No fucking witcher-style pirouettes. You just don’t do those moves.
    -Arrows that are too deadly
    -A console style checkpoint system
-Crimes that are too easily forgiven through bribing
-Non degrading weapons (weapons should degrade as you use them. Because they just do. You fight with a sword a lot, it’ll eventually break sooner than later)

Sorry another one:

  • Vilification of a historical faction to the point that they are depicted like the Empire in Star Wars or something like that.
