A little disappointment

There is a chance they will just kill you when you surrender. I believe the video mentions it.

I believe it depends on your reputation and crime you’ve commited, like in real life.

Ik might look a bit off in the video, but perhaps the guards didnt see the dead body yet and just thought it was a robbery.

It’s not a bit off to me. It’s really strange to be honest. Even if it was just a robbery the guards would at least take your weapon and hold you before asking questions, no matter who you are, especially when you run away!!

It reminds me of Oblivion guards…

You can do better Wahrhorse!
Come on. At least let a guard hold on to Henry (the robber/murderer). He just fled from them after all.

What’s even weirder is that seconds ago they were going after him with their swords in their hands. That’s the equivalent of a policeman with a pistol running after you. And then they just stop in front of you, put away their weapon and start a conversation?
Come on!

Personally its a non-issue, it is no more or less immersion breaking then anything else that is gamified for the sake of functionality.

This would add a much more advanced layer to AI/combat AI, on top of the already advanced AI systems present in the game.

There sadly are still limitations in technology and resources.

They could just leave it like that, but let someone hold on to Henry.
I think that’s what the police would do even today.

This still adds animation and dialogue camera issues, it would all have to look natural and make sense otherwise whats the point in adding it at all?

I understand what you want and why, but you have to look at it from a developers view.

Is it game breaking? No.

Is it required to make the game function? No.

Is it desired? Yes.

Does adding it out weigh the trial and tribulations required to have simple and subtle system in place? Most assuredly not.

For me it’s immersion breaking.
Don’t get me wrong. The game is magnificent from what I’ve seen so far. But that doesn’t mean that everything is fine. This is a no-no for me. It breaks the flow for me. I am stealthy, murder someone, steal stuff, then action, I get tracked down, I fear for my life, and suddenly a conversation. It was really unexpected for me.

Clearly not stealthy enough.

I get you, I just think its kind of moot point when the discs are already being printed for release.

WH has pushed quite a few innovations with this game already, this is one im sure they would have addressed given the time and resources.

Lets just hope its a hit sells well and these and other innovations can come in the second title.

WH gives the player the chance to decide if you/he wants to pay, flee or talk. But not always. Sometimes the guards will attack you and you can´t surrender. Depends on the crime and situation.

Which game does it better???
I don´t know any game with a better and more advanced crime system…

It’s an immersion breaker that the guards dont even try to hold on to you or take your weapon when you run away from a murder. Like, seriously?

Imagine this:
You break into a house. You murder the guard. You steal stuff. Policemen run after you. Then you just turn around, they stop and you start a conversation with them.

My thoughts exactly, its truly unnecessary to spam your opinions in other topics that you already made entire thread for.

I wanted to make sure that Wahrhorse sees it.

Spam is not the answer my friend.

This forum has tagging system if you did not already know use the @ symbol before the individuals name you wish to alert, and it will send them a notification.

OK. I didn’t know about the tagging system. I think ‘spamming’ is a bit exaggerated for putting part of my comment of the other thread in this one.
What’s your opinion on the matter anyway?

@Blacksmith this post was meant for that thread!

I mean on the matter that the guards won’t hold on to you when you flee.

So you’d rather not give the player a chance to fight when confronted by guards? Sounds like poor gameplay to me.

No, that’s not what I mean. You can fight. But when you lose, they should either kill you or take your weapon and hold on to you. Losing a fight to the death and then starting a conversation with the person that almost killed you without making sure that they aren’t a threat anymore is just unbelievably absurd.

It’s the equivalent of a policeman who goes with a gun in his hand after a murderer and then stops in front of them to ask them questions.
