1.000.000 Stretch Goal

Yeah, when you dont have enough money for full version, you just buy much cheaper dog version. You will be playing dog, and your side quest will be like

,Dig a hole!"
,Piss on 20 trees!"
,Bark a little!"

It is always good be have a dog at your side

No but really

I loved Dogmeat in Falout 3, but there are few thing that i am concerned about, if dogs should be here.

Mainly it seems that the combat system will look real and be great. But if dogs will help you in fight, i think that will spoil it a little. I think Warhorse will not make some physics model of different dogs that will act real in a fight, because they dont have time for it, so I guess the dogs will be just standing close to the oponent and bitting him to leg till he is dead. And that looks so ordinary.

But I am no game maker and I dont understand it much, so in general, a dog that would work corectly and wouldnt look like it doesnt belong to the game, that sounds great.

Lonely medieval man, who can trust only to his dog.
Its like Mad Max

But i think it would be a shame if dogs wouldnt fit there and still be there, only to remind reached strech goal. And would be better if guys have more time complete or make even better other stuff. Like nature, acombat, wild animals or whatever you can think of. Game looks promising already and my only wish to everything thats planed would work properly.

I think a dog is a good idea, if it’s well programmed and not glitching around all the time

I think the dog is a good idea if its done correctly, its something to work with far better than a human, They are far more sensitive so i wouldn’t have that much fear around a camp fire being ambushed as the dog would likely detect them.

Also they are very useful for tracking and hunting etc

You said what I wasn’t able to communicate. I hope Warhorse had this feature in mind right from the beginning and it won’t affect combat balance and the immersion in a negative way.

I’m surprised so many people like dogs in the game. Maybe my RL dislike of dogs is brought into my thoughts on dogs in the game.

Another view to handle the character would be awesome
I prefer that than the dog.

I love dogs, but I have some real concerns about including them in the game. I think if they are going to do this they need to keep things realistic and that means if you are bringing the dog into battle there is a good chance that it will die or get seriously injured. These outcomes should be permanent. I could get another dog, but no magically after a quest my same dog comes back and everyone is happy. I would like to have the option of leaving my dog at home, that way his use becomes part of strategy.

With the amount of emphasis that Warhorse has but on realistic combat, I seriously worry that throwing a dog into that system would just muddy the waters too much. With that said, for the more day-to-day hunting, walking around the world I think having the use of the dog could really enhance the game play. Maybe have a few quests that feature the dog a bit more prominently.

I like it, and looking forward for skill based quest in which i will have to keep herd of sheeps
together from one city to another to sell them! Bad ass peasant!

Yes, this could be useful. In case of some random event like burglary. If the dog is at home he bites off the nuts of some thug who’s trying to steal your belongings. The guy is then writhing in agony on the floor and when you come home you can finish him off. But if the dog is with you and not guarding your home while you are absent, the thief would plunder the chest where you’re storing your loot.

Now that sounds like a Red Dead Redemption quest.

Simple question: from what we’ve seen so far, does anyone think they WON’T figure out a way to make dogs work sensibly within the game?

I have a feeling they know what they’re working toward if that stretch goal is reached. Let’s just say I’d be surprised if you suddenly had a killer dog with you, attacking and maiming knights in battle.

Would rather have a dog than a the 800 000 goal.

Within the combat system (which we have only seen a very early version of) I do have my doubts. In the rest of the game I can completely envision them integrating a dog seamlessly. I’m not saying they cannot do it, just that I would like to see/hear more before I would have confidence that a dog could be integrated into combat successfully.

I would suspect a dog simply won’t be available during certain parts of the game, like a large battle. In something more one-on-one, they could potentially build in an “assist” if you need it, but I’m sure they’ll test things enough to balance it out between making the dog useful and keeping it from being too much of a help in certain situations. I doubt anyone wants a setup where the dog just keeps saving your character, which would limit the purpose of actually improving.

Assumptions, yeah - but given what I’ve seen so far of the NPC code in terms of how they act, I wouldn’t think it should be that difficult to make a dog behave sensibly overall, especially a trained one.

I want a dog in game and the one in the video promoting the game looks very cute !!

I want a dog, and I don’t mind if I can’t take it to the battleground (I doubt I’ll take it even if I could!), but I want something more than Fallout 3’s Dogmeat

I dont know why, but I am also worried about dog drawing too much atention to himself. I mean without him I would answer question:

,Hey, what game are you playing now?"

Answer:
Kingdom Come, its that czech made realistic medieval rpg.

But with him I would answer:
Kingdom come, Its the medieval rpg where you have a dog companion.

If you know what i mean

Im not saying its bad idea. Having a dog is truly awesome, but that mean everybody would have him and me too ofcourse. And Kcd would become rpg with dog. If that is good thing or bad thing? I guess its up to everybody. Im worried that it will just draw too much attention in general.

On the other hand if there wont be any dogs, I am afraid i will miss them. Some images, of the main character and his dog in that age and circumstances, that flow in my head since they post that idea, are purely awesome! Like tracking together some burglars to their forest hideout.

About combat system we see only long sword
maybe with polearm you can try to unbalance your opponent by hooking his ankle and the dog could do the same by biting him =)
Anyway I will take my dog far from battle, I don’t want to lose him =)

Do in-game dogs need to eat too? And what about horses, do they need to be fed?
P.S.: What about the 1 100 000 pounds stretch goal? Cats?
