1.100.000 stretch goal

I know there’s just 27 hours left, but soon the western hemisphere will start returning from schools and work and they will need some incentive to keep pledging. So let’s throw some ideas around.
I also totally expect Warhorse to have an idea by now, but as the campaign will continue beyond kickstarter, these ideas might still be valid. Please indicate with likes those posts that would make you excited, possibly to the point of upping your pledge. My bits:

  1. additional quests in the same setting, with the same assets, i.e. prolonging the gameplay time.

  2. recreating a part of the map as it looks like in the 21st century to allow for a cinematic “this is where it happened” turn-today-into-history opening scene.

Medieval tournaments with jousting and all that (see the 'A Knight’s Tale’movie)!

I’d be interested in some sort of addition, maybe outside the game story, that includes some info about the real-world locations and inspirations. Perhaps it could be something that unlocks once you beat the game, so if you go through it first without knowing all the actual history you won’t spoil yourself if something keeps to what really happened. I know there’s a video they’ve done that shows some places already.

Additional quests to extend gameplay time, I could go either way on. As long as they’re good quality that’s fine, but there might only be a set amount of things for them to really have players do without making it feel tacked on and unnecessary.

That was the 900k goal.

Haha, you’re right. Kinda missed that but happy they thought of such a cool feature themselves.

I actually didn’t expect this goal to include proper jousting, but you are right, it totally makes sense. Good for us

They already made this on their Youtube channel. Just search for Warhorse Studios.

Well, I hope jousting is an option within that particular goal. It was part of some things discussed here, at least.

I would enjoy an Assassin’s Creed style codex. Just a nice way to have some of the history of the places, landmarks, people, etc we’ll see.

Just as long as it doesn’t involve running around collecting fragments of anything in-game!

Oh yeah absolutely I just meant that text thing that is in the AC games, you know? Like when u walk past a church in Rome there is a page that details some of the history of the place and what happened to it after the events of the game. Not weird sci-fi fragment collections, thats a given.

I like the idea of jousting, would really add a new side to the tournament mode

I could see that being possible with castles, but I’m not sure what else it would allow for. Maybe a key battle? What worked with the AC games was knowing exactly what a lot of specific buildings looked like, but they may have taken some liberties of their own. I noticed on the livestream yesterday, they mentioned knowing the architectural styles but that a lot of actual places within those castles no longer existed so they had to do their best to guess or fill in some blanks.

Yeah fair enough if they don’t know enough about whats there then there isn’t any point in having it but if they do then it would be a nice feature I would enjoy and probably wouldn’t delay the game or really effect production in any major way.

I would like to see this feature too, although as Flashfire hinted at, there’s probably not that many interesting real-history buildings and events in KCD to fill a codex. Also, while being a neat feature, it’s something that a fan can find on his own online and would not make me up my pledge.

They could also include info on various weapons if that isn’t already going to be built into things when you’re acquiring them.

What would it do gamewise? Make opponents trip over it? Calm you before battle by friendly purring?

£1,100,000 > £1,000,000. Cat > Dog. The answer is obvious.

You could throw it at enemies or give it to someone you hate because cats are joyless money-sinks. :stuck_out_tongue:
