For those of you that have been able to play kcd patch 1.3 how are the balancing patches? I recently restarted the game and took no perks used the weakest possible weapons etc and still the game was just to easy. the way they scaled dmg with strength in this game is crazy. either way i am at the point where this game is just not fun anymore bc no matter how i try and gimp myself henry just becomes some op god. i have played thru the games main story once and if it wasnt for the story being interesting i would have never kept going. on my second playthru attempt i never visited bernard except for the one time quest and still i got to powerful and money was so easy to come by i had over 10000 groshen in no time it just made no sense. so i restarted a new games and along with everything else i also decided to not be a thief and not collect any armor or weapons from enemies and the only armor i was allowed to wear was what i bought. in the end i still became rich and over powered in no time. i stopped again on this third play thru where as soon as i started to fight runt i hit him one and boom cut scene starts and fight over. really! omg thats crazy bc just the other day the game wouldnt even let me hit him once and now magically i kill him in one tap… anyways i really like this game and am just really annoyed right now so im ranting but i am in high spirits that with patch 1.3 i can start a new game and hopefully have a more challenging and balanced experience thru out the entire game and not just the first few hours. i am at the point now where i have to avoid playing most of the game such as no loot collecting no lockpicking chests no training with bernard or any trainers bc it just makes you to powerful. i even try to avoid some fights to bc it will just make me that much more powerful. i get to the point where i fight with no armor except a gambeson bc thats the only way to keep it somewhat challenging. im not even a real hard core gamer. i have a wife and kids and in the military. i use to play skyrim all the time and i could barely survive master and legendary even with thousands of hours but with kingdom come its to easy to survive everything and kill in one sometimes 2 shot even with no perks armor or potions and weak weapons. i liked when in skyrim i found good loot bc it was somewhat useful but in kingdom come if i find good loot i just leave it where i found it bc it just makes you to strong. yes skyrim had that problem as well but you could easily set rules in skyrim to limit yourself and abilities but in kingdom come no matter how much i try and set rules and limits i still become so op godlike creature.
What weapon are you using? I use "reliable " sword or knight hunting. And when fighting armored guys, it takes quite a few hits

Patch 1.3 resolved some issues but it is still not enough. Strength scaling, as you say, is still much too high as the damage formula seems to be linear (meaning that it naturally spikes high after a certain point). Along this armors vs weapons defence/damage ratio are not balanced properly as also in full plate mail even just the base damage of the worst swords amply surpass every form of protection NPCs can have (and this is greatly accentuated by the fact that it is very rare to find some NPCs with non damaged armor).
As the poster above me suggested - and if you are on PC - use the mod Immersive balance, that’s IMO the most balanced one atm. I even talked with the mod author myself and told him how to remove the auto-react of NPCs on stealth kill and knockdown and he said he will introduce those changes in the next version (making a stealth run much more viable than it is now). Along the already good changes in stealth present in the mod I believe his work will become a must have, at least until Warhorse sorts out all of the issues.
In any case Warhorse said that they will work on the damage formula in the next patch as the changes in this one were only a part of the balancing, since they had not the time to do everything as 1.3 was already in its final stage.
Yeah the 1.3 was to address glitches that people were flipping out about.
