#1 Tip for a First Timer

Hi all,

Just brought the game and I am currently downloading all the patches.

I’ve looked through some of the tip/guide threads on here already but just wondering if there was one strategy/tip you wish you knew when you started the game what would it be?

Thanks

If you try something (lockpicking, fighting, sneaking…) and utterly fail at it, the game isn’t broken. You just need to keep practicing and increase your character’s skill.

Follow-up tip: this game really focuses on the story. Don’t skip dialog, or you’re going to miss important details.

…okay, just one more. This game rewards creative solutions. The obvious way is quite often not the only, or best, way.

use bathouses as much as possible to get xp boost

Explore. Become a scavenger of battles. Sell the goods to get a good horse (eg Warhorse Jenda for sale in Merhojed). Be patient (don’t blow your stamina), persistent (keep practicing) and vigilant (situational awareness) in your application of martial arts. And, remember with few exceptions, you are NOT under a deadline to finish next objective

Thanks. Suppose asking for 1 tip makes it too hard to chose. :grinning:

The best advice I can give is just enjoy the game. Learn as you go along, don’t try to “game” the game. I will tell you that I have found that strength and agility are important skills to acquire and will come in handy when in a fight. I hope you enjoy the game as much as I do.

Put all skill points in speach upon starting as it turned out to be the longest one to lvl.
Explore and enjoy the game.

My only tip would play a little until you learn a few things, then start a new game. I always do that with games that have a steep learning curve.

Get your own horse as soon as possible, you will make your life easier.

My tip is to suspend the main quest line after you complete the quest ”Train Hard, Fight Easy”, and instead go and explore the world. You can do it for tens of hours if you like, without any negative consequences for the main quest.

If its your first playthrough listen to the game, i know how obvious that sounds but seriously i didn’t and i thoroughly regret it. For example if the game tells you to do something fast or someone tells you to “Hurry” move your ass to wherever they tell you to otherwise there may be consequences.

Another tip: Do all side quests because why not lol

Lol. Play the game they want you is bad advice. He most certainly needs to think out of box and solve wome quests with less obvious way but more subjective and original approach instead. Of course, this does not apply for following main quests.

also try to have sex in the bathouses as much as possible to get boosts

Pay attention to what the game and the characters tell you. The rest is easy.

I would give this advice too.

Get a mace.

Mace is especially good for late game, but at the beginning, any sword is good.

dont tilt, chill
also dont be afraid to just run if you see like 2+ enemies until your a hella busted tank
also also also the ancient map dlc gives you a really good start if you kinda? wanna cheat (ish)

Pre-order DLC is not cheat. You get gambeson and other low tier things, other you need to actually find yourself. But I made videos how to find them.
