10 fps on lowest settings

What kind of Mobo/CPU combo did you get after all?

Assumeing you mean motherboard ? CPU i7-6700k havent put in the order for motherboard yet

Yes. Ah, ok. That’s awesome. What brand of motherboard will you be mating with that CPU?

Also, remember, your current CPU is AMD, your upgraded CPU is Intel. Completely different sockets. Socket 1151 is for your 6700k. Since I’m a fan of MSI, they have the z170 gaming motherboard or even a more budgety h170. Mind you, there are more than one version of the gaming ones, but you’ll see which one you want depending on how much you want to spend. From $120-ish to $350-ish.

I have no clue atm. I dont play any demanding games right now so will probobly order one closet to game lunch. I will look for Intel socket ofc  Whats the benefit of having a more expansive motherboard ?

Overclocking. Cheaper boards often don’t support the same kind of power as more expensive ones. Some also lack OC options or other features.

What @Aradiel posted. Since you purchased an unlocked CPU, the board allows to overclock to your CPUs potential. Also, small variations include built-in wifi and\or bluetooth, M.2 connections, or more USB 3.1 connections. If you aren’t looking to use all that, then the lowest variation will do just fine from the Gaming series from MSI. I don’t know anything about Gigabyte or Asus or any other brand since I have personally preferred MSI for all my builds. It also allows to overclock your memory modules (RAM). It DOES have an automatic Overclock procedure that you just boot to BIOS, click an option, and voila, overclocked to a safe predetermined setting. Also, just like Aradiel pointed out, some allow for higher power CPUs as in, they provide connections for bigger power cables to connect to the motherboard. It all comes down to personal preference and what parts you already have (whether you want to utilize their full potential).

With a 6700K, that’s a powerful processor, so you would expect a motherboard form the higher price range. Not saying “You SHOULD get one of them” as most of the boards from budget range would run with your CPU, they would just lack the features to utilize more of the extras included in the CPU. Good Luck, and don’t build too fast unless you know exactly what you are doing and how to do it. Take your time and ask as many questions as you need until you are sure about your build. :+1:

Thank you so much for this reply!

No problem, buddy. I hope you’re able to build the rig like you want. Hopefully you don’t run into any other issues.

If you are going to overclock it is best that you learn how (it is not difficult, many resources/guides online specific to chipset and mobo=motherboard) rather than “push a button and voila
”. Learn from first principles and you are set to do whatever you like.

Overclocking memory is generally not worth the very small return (it is not the bottleneck in any system unless you don’t have enough of it
), but CPU and GPU OC’ing have great returns. ALWAYS get aftermarket cooling fans, or purchase a GPU factory pre-OC and that way still get warranty.

Although I do understand your worry about the BIOS option to overclock with a simple selection, I have found it be rather safe and very reliable for first timers. Even for slightly experienced users it is not a bad setting. It is not very far off from “highest” possible settings (taking in mind that even two i7 4700k CPUs won’t exactly have the exact same range) that I was able to do myself through manual OCing. My i7 went as high as 4.7GHz (stable) manually while BIOS option was at 4.4GHz. Stock is 4.0GHz. Of course, 4.7GHz was putting a lot of strain on my not-so-very-expensive Corsair H70 liquid cooler. Yes, I know I should have a bigger better cooler for that kind of overclocking, but I was taking the chance to see how far I could push mine with what I have, and I saw it. Back to the topic, that option is there for people such as Aethelstan (I think), where he doesn’t need to read all the guides to figure out how to overclock, just as long as he feels like getting a bit more out of his mobo/CPU combination with just a tick in the BIOS. I am NOT, however, saying you are wrong. That is a really educational thing to do if overclocking is something you are very interested in and I would say if he is interested in it, then by all means, go right ahead and take your advice. Learning it will not hurt him selecting the BIOS option if it is easier for him. :+1:

Agreed. A fine reply btw.

I just like to advocate self-education, it is very liberating and it is such a boost when you do it yourself.

Oh of course, self education is a really great thing, here. I totally agree with that. It really IS an accomplishment when you realize all the tidbits you’ve learned and how to use them. I guess it all boils down to whether or not it is important enough to him/her to learn each setting and how it affects the components. He took the first step! He inquired about it! Woohoo!
Also, thanks for the compliment. We won’t know if anybody took either of our advice but it feels good knowing they are there for the taking.

Hi guys,
I have this comp :

CPU : I7 6800k 3,4 GHz
RAM : HyperX Predator 32Gb 3000 MHz
Motherboard : Asus Strix X99 GAMING
GPU : Asus Strix GAMING Ge Force 1070 8Gb
and working on SSD.

How can i only play with 5-20 FPS with this game ?
Could it have an installation problem or it comes from the beta because I see a lot of people playing fluidly with a less strong composition, that i can’t uderstand.

Someone to enlighten me please ?

This game look very cool

I specify that I play low definition naturally to have a chance to play but nothing done

Beta has no optimization. 25-35 max FPS with stuttering is the average experience.

No updates planned until full release (estimated 2017).

Yes, I did not want to know if the beta would improve or not, It must now concentrate on the final product but, my question is, is this configuration will allow me to play at a very high level as I only turn to 5-15 in action / camps just on the beta, is that just normal or not ? so let me be a little worried

thanks for your help

5-20 FPS seems a bit low, especially on your system. As McWonderBeast said, the beta is not optimized right now, The final game should run smoothly on a system like yours, even on very high settings.

Dr Fusselpulli This is the kind of response I expected !
I have to admit that I have just obtained this composition and the game also,I did a test and everything seems correct to me, this is why i don’t understand.

Thank you for this information and your speed, you do a very good job
