nah, not worth it. also, 4k is more realistic because your head isn’t close to the ground, the shadow would actually be diffuse.

More important than the resolution is that the shadows aren’t flickering, at least for me.
In some games they are very flickering which strains the eyes like low FPS or low overall resolution.
So I think 4k for shadow res should be enough. It’s also better performance-wise. Over 8k isn’t much visual benefit anyway, it’s not worth the FPS hit that may come with it.

Yeah the Performance hit was pretty hard for me ^^ I only had 5-10fps witt 16k.
But with 8k I had 70fps (Everything on low).
Also I have lowered all the other settings because with them on very high and 16k shadows the game just crashed xD

My Specs:

ASUS Strix OC GTX 980
Intel Core i7-4790K @ 4,44 GHz (Watercooled)
16 GB RAM DDR3 (2x8GB RAM @ 1600 MHz)
ASUS MAXIMUS VII Ranger
Windows 8.1 64 Bit

Pretty good system but with SLI I could get more out of it. Also DDR4 and i7-5xxx CPU would be nice ^^

I just compared them. I cant even play the game with 16k because it just crashes as soon as I set it to 16k. For me 4k is enough while I actually can play it on Very High with 8k shadows @ 30-40 fps. But I prefer 60 fps so I have to go with 4k.
