A deeper hardcore mode

Yeah the hardcore mode is dropping very soon. This is just an idea for a deeper hardcore mode.

In the upcoming hardcore mode there are negative perks. You are forced to pick two or can chose up to nine if you want that extra slog.

In the deeper hardcore mode I’m suggesting above I’d like to see perks tied in a way that is even more meaningful more thought out, you really wrestle with your choice.

Example. You get the lockpicking perk, silent lock breaks in game as of now, in the deeper hardcore mode this has a negative knock on, that means your locks being broken by thieves also are more silent. meaning less chance you are woken.

So you really have to weight up the choice to pick this perk. Do you want to steal more easily, have lots more stuff but it’s easier for people to steal from you.

Ok just sell it as you get it so they cannot steal it. Well, no. thanks to the new number 7 it’s risky selling to the Millers ,( using number 7 in list having to meet the buyers it can go horribly wrong even more tension )

All this means you’ll be able to horde less(with your mind at ease).

keeps you on edge because any cool stolen armour you want to keep. you need to be vigilant while you wait till it is no longer hot items. Or you could just risk wearing it now and have a guard stop search and lose it. the idea is all of the above naturally forces you to make such risky decisions. Get you out of your comfort zone.

Things like these for me, make the game world more vibrant. I want that awesome armour but I want to struggle to attain it and to keep hold of it.

With this and bandits sometimes looking to loot you not just kill, the tension ramps up ten fold.

You can pick one or several of the file(s) to make the game harder.

WH has done a create job of creating a foundational environment with potential conflicts. that said, conflicting goals/strategies, working at cross purposes and opportunity costs are all part of RL :poop: that the vanilla KCD doesn’t have enough of. hope hardcore DLC addresses some of this.

Sry: huh? Mebbe you mis spoke your thought?

great, not create

clarfication: there are a lot of potential factions in the KCD environment: Cuman vs non-Cuman mercs, Cuman/Hungarians vs Bohemians, nobles vs commoners, high nobility vs low nobility, traders/vendors vs bandits, vendors/traders vs customers, millers vs everyone, tradesman A vs tradesman B (tricks of the trade quest), proto-Hussites vs Catholic Church, Waldensians vs Catholic Church, etc. i call that the foundation.

where KCD underachieves is making more nested, opportunity cost decisions as one found more of in Fallout New Vegas (and other games). that said, ashes is supposed to link Henry’s interactions with NPCs of vanilla game with opportunity to live/work in Pribyslavitz… would like to think WH listened to this feedback

A deeper hardcore mode like Subnautica? I hear u can go down to 1800ft.

This is Kirksty everybody. with that razor sharp wit we have come to know and love. yep Kirksty, who only the other day set up a thread making his big (not attention seeking)announcement that he is and quote “Outta here, finished with the game”…

big round of applause, for nobody could have guessed he would be back hours after making this big headline news announcement… looking forward to your " I am outta here part 2 tour" brought to by classic unoriginal flavor Kirskty.

Now THAT’S hilarious

Would be a nice idea for a mod! Although I wouldn’t go too much into depth there, otherwise it becomes an annoyance.

The ideas about being robbed are great!
Also the horse inventory thing and the shared chest among inns thing. Sure, it is convenient. But there’s no magic in medieval bohemia!
The chest in the miller’s house should be safe, but not unlimited. At one point it should be full, and then you have to purchase a little storage room or something.

I don’t like this because once they’ve initiated the animation they are bound to you, so even if you’ve already ridden off, they teleport to where you now are.

I like it in principle, but it’s glitchy at the moment.

Lol. That’s one idea that would be cool in a future dlc!

Interesting. Never had them follow me. They’ve all been muerto

They’ve died whilst trying to pull you off your horse?

That or I fall down, get up, kill them, and move on
