A question about reading

I have a question about reading in the game, especially in the context of…

Spoilers for the quest Mysterious Ways

At one point of the quest you have an option to read the specific book or ask the scribe to read it for you. I’ve learned reading earlier in the game, so I’ve tried this option and the quest log got updated with this:

“I looked at the Rattay Black Chronicle. There was a record in it that could well be about Lubosh’s cronies, but I didn’t know if that was enough to help me find any of them.”

Now if I ask the priest for help the quest is completed and this particular objective (Look through the Rattay Black Chronicle for any record of Lubosh) fails.

So my question is…is my reading skills to low to progress the quest by reading the book myself…or is it designed in a way that you need to follow it up by just going to the city and looking for clues yourself?

Honestly think that’s how it was designed. I read the book too and saw records of Lubosh however t still wanted me to ask the scribe to read it. Feels dumb :expressionless:

You guys aren’t fully reading the quest in the UI.

It tells you to now FOLLOW the clues you learned in the Black Chronicles book =)

It basically tells you to go to Ledotsch and ask around about Reeky, as him and his father (Hyrnek) are mentioned alongside Limpy Lubosh.

The game does not put a new marker on the map as then it wouldn’t matter what your reading skill was, you’d just follow the marker.

Once you get to Ledotsch and you ask around about Reeky, you’ll get new markers as the game now knows you read the clues correctly in the Black Chronicle.

And that was exactly what I wanted to know…just didn’t want to waste time in case the quest wasn’t designed with that in mind. thanks for the answer
